Job DescriptionPAGE1Job Title: Financial Controller – <strong>SDI</strong> <strong>Group</strong> Germany Material Handling SolutionsReports to: Chief Financial OfficerRole Definition:The purpose of this role will be to support the day to day activities of <strong>SDI</strong> <strong>Group</strong>’s Material HandlingSolution business based in Bielefeld, Germany. This role requires a strong individual who can managethe day to day finance requirements of the business, month-end and year-end group reporting and adhoc reports for the <strong>Group</strong> CFO and Geschäftsführer’s of the business.This individual will be part of the business management team, working in close cooperation with thetwo managing directors and ensuring the efficient, successful and profitable operation of the business.In this role your key responsibilities will include the following:Control of Sales & Purchase ledger• Coding & Posting invoices (checked against POs)• BACS & Cheque Payments• Overseas Payments (External & <strong>Group</strong>)• Purchase Ledger Queries (Internal & External)• Creditor Setup & Management• Intrastat , EU Sales & purchases, CIS Returns• Customer Invoicing• Debtor Management• Cash Allocation• Debt Collection & Queries• Managing European VAT requirements on sales & purchase invoicesBanking• Cash Management and cash flow forecasting for the business• Bank Postings• Bank Reconciliations
Job DescriptionPAGE2Nominal Ledger / Management Accounts• Prepayments & Accruals• Monthly Journals• Labour Allocations• Depreciation & Fixed Asset Control• Intercompany ReconciliationsPayroll• Monthly payroll reporting, working in cooperation with our payroll bureauReporting• Production of monthly management accounts• Supporting <strong>Group</strong> on year-end audit requirements• Preparation of the Year-end German HGB accounts• Dealing with external auditors as required• Producing ad-hoc reports for the CFO, CEO and local managing directorsThis list is by no means exhaustive and may be added to following discussion.Key Competencies• Communication – within the local business, wider <strong>SDI</strong> <strong>Group</strong> and to external customer andsuppliers• Influencing key management as well as working closely with the design and operations teams• Budget control and reporting of on-going projects• Timely delivery of monthly management accounts• Accurate reporting of cash flow requirements• Accurate reporting of monthly variances to budget• Effective Time Management• Supplier Relationship Management – in particular in support of the purchasing managerSkills and qualifications• Fluent in English and German• Qualified accountant by experience or recognized accountancy qualification• 3-5 years experience in a similar role
