This prompted acomprehensive review resulting in approval of new guidelines at the January 31 st , 2012 meeting. This wasfurther reviewed at the October 31, 2012 meeting as below:10.31.12.4 A) Desiccant Quantity – IGCC/IGMA adopted the Adsorption Capacity per Perimeter Foot(ACPF) rating and related guidelines at the January 2012 meeting to address desiccant quantityand changes in desiccant. An implementation date of 1/1/13 was established. It was noted thatsome suppliers have been slow to provide the specification values needed to determine ACPF,while others have questions the parameters (temperature and humidity) used to establish thedesiccant suppliers specification values. After discussion it was agreed to continue with thecurrent requirements and enforcement of the ACPF rating 1/1/13. IGCC/IGMA shall maintain alist of desiccants and suppliers who have provided a specification, but IGCC/IGMA will notpresent the actual specification values.IGCC/IGMA Desiccant Guideline ChangesG.26 For all Certified Products and prototypes for Certification testing, the fabricator shall have on file acopy of the Desiccant supplier’s specification showing the minimum equilibrium water adsorption capacity(weight %) as measured at 25 o C (77 o F) and 50 % Relative Humidity (+/- 5%). Additionally the fabricatorshall document the weight of desiccant or desiccant system (grams) in the certified product or prototype. From this data, the fabricator shall document the adsorption capacity per perimeter foot (ACPF) using thefollowing formula: (Modified 1/31/12)ALWAYSACPF (grams/ ft.) = Weight of Desiccant Product (g) x Adsorption Capacity (wt %)Perimeter (Feet) x 100Note: For all 14 x 20 inch test specimens the perimeter is 5.66 feetA.DE.1 A manufacturer may use the same IGCC®/IGMA® number on production units having air spacethicknesses equal to, or greater than the model tested provided the desiccant Adsorption Capacity perPerimeter Foot (ACPF) remains the same (- 10%) or is greater. A manufacturer may use the sameIGCC®/IGMA® number on production units having an air space thickness smaller than the model testedprovided the manufacturer maintains the same or more sides filled with desiccant. A.DE.2 A change in supplier of the same generic type of desiccant from that tested will not require adifferent IGCC®/IGMA® number. However, Guideline A.SS.2 shall apply where applicable. (Modified1/31/12)A.DE.3 The use of the same loose fill desiccant manufactured in different particle size ranges will not requirea different IGCC®/IGMA® number. (Modified 1/31/12)NEVERN.DE.1 A change in generic type of desiccant will require a different IGCC®/IGMA® number. For purposeof desiccant guidelines, the generic types of desiccant are 1) LF = Loose Fill desiccant, 2) IB = Imbeddeddesiccant system, 3) MX = Desiccant Matrix.
