The Northwest Chapteris Proud to Announce Our:38th Annual Sportsmen forConservation Banquet & Fundraising AuctionSaturday, February 2, 2013Hilton Seattle Airport Conference CenterFeaturing Guest Speaker:CAPTAIN CHAD FLEMING (RET)United States Special Operations Command,75 RANGER REGIMENTTHBorn and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama Chad decided to stay and graduate college in his home town at the University of Alabama. While attending classesduring the day, he worked the midnight shift at the Tuscaloosa County Sheriffs Office as a Deputy Sheriff. In the fall of 1999 he decided to enlist in the UnitedStates Army as an Airborne Ranger, after completing basic training and airborne school he arrived at the Ranger Regiment where he began a grueling monthlong selection process that has an attrition rate of 67%. His leadership skills and attitude earned him the honor graduate award for his class. He was thenassigned to the elite 3 rd Ranger battalion where he served with distinction. In 2003 he made the decision to attend Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia where he graduated as the honor graduate and chose to take anassignment with the 4 th Infantry Division in Fort Carson, Colorado. After serving for one year in the 4 th Infantry Division he decided it was time to go back to theSpecial Operations Unit that had raised him in the Army. He once again attended another selection process within the Ranger Regiment. Upon successfullycompleting the Ranger Orientation Program he was selected to be a platoon leader with 3 rd battalion, 75 th Ranger Regiment. He has served, as an officer in themost demanding jobs the Ranger Regiment has to offer.During his six deployments overseas Captain Fleming has been wounded in combat on three separate occasions (Gun-shot wounds and hand grenades). He hasundergone 23+ surgeries, which would later result in a trans-tibia amputation of his left leg. While most would assume this type of injury would conclude ones military service, this is far from the path Captain Fleming has taken. He has deployed notonce but twice since his injuries and both times he chose to go back to the same unstable area of Iraq that cost him his leg. He has even chosen to return as aDetachment Commander of a Special Operations Sniper/Reconnaissance unit and lead his men on combat missions in Iraq. While receiving therapy and rehabilitation at the Center for the Intrepid in San Antonio, Texas he has competed in events that help raise money for veterans. Hehas competed and finished 5K runs, Triathlons, a 360 mile bike ride from San Antonio to Dallas, Texas, San Francisco to Los Angeles (460 miles), he ran theNew York City Marathon in November of 2009, and most recently completed The Army 10 miler in Washington, DC.Chad also serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Lone Survivor Foundation, which was formed by Marcus Lutrell, former Navy SEAL and author of theNew York Times Best Seller “Lone Survivor”!He continues to help raise awareness and money for organizations that help wounded warriors, most of which are the same organizations that helped him overthe last several years of his life.Sports Teams and corporations all across the country have asked Chad to bring his inspirational story to their team building events. Not only is his storyinspirational given all of the obstacles he has had to overcome but it is also motivational. It reminds us that giving up is the easy way out, and with perseveranceand motivation we can overcome anything life throws at us!

3 DAY GUIDED TROPHY ANTELOPE HUNT IN COLORADOWith Captain Chad Fleming in 2013Filmed by Mike Rogers Jr. for the SCI “Expedition Safari” TV ShowHunt provided by and guided by Les OhlhauserHunt Description: 3-day guided trophy antelope rifle hunt with Captain Chad Fleming for one hunter on ahuge private ranch near Trinidad, CO. (200 miles south of Denver via Interstate 25). The high bidder willhave the opportunity to appear on SCI's national televised series, Expedition Safari. Show Host MikeRogers and his crew will join the hunting group and cover the hunting, which will air on Outdoor Channela few weeks after the hunt takes place. (Optional add-on) Highlights of the episode will also appear atthe SCI International Hunter's Convention.Date of Hunt: The antelope season usually runs the first weekend in October. Transportation is Includedfrom the ranch house to the hunt site. Camp will be wall tents with separate sleeping tents, cooking tents, and shower tents. Les will do all the cooking; he attended Chef School in Germany and will make somefantastic meals. All you will need for this hunt is your personal gear and a sleeping bag plus a cooler fortaking home your trophy.License: Not provided. This is a Private Land Only hunt designation code and it will take 0 to 1 point, butis usually a 100% draw. Applications should be made available the last part of February and need to be inby April 1. Anyone born after Jan 1, 1949 will need a Hunter Safety Card. Purchaser of this hunt isresponsible for contacting the donor once the hunt has been purchased to make arrangements for licenseapplication and date of hunt. Hunter is responsible for getting and filing the application. I will assist thehunter in filling out their applications when they contact me.Notes: Each year on the ranch we have had 100% success rate. The hunt would be ideal for a trophyhunter, lady hunter, youth hunter, or a first time hunter. The largest antelope killed in Colorado in 25 yearswas taken on the Trinidad, CO ranch 6 years ago scoring 86 6/8 Boone & Crockett. We broke that recordin 2005, taking an antelope that scored 91pts B&C. We have some great bucks; we strive for quality notquantity.Colorado law states that the hunter must use a minimum of .243 caliber rifle. I would recommend a .243 -.270 - 7mm Mag caliber for a rifle. I also would suggest that the hunter be able to shoot off of shootingsticks. The shots are normally 200 to 300 yards and the hunter should be confident with his/her shootingability. There is a walk- in cooler on the ranch, once the animal is harvested it will be skinned and cooled down. Isuggest the hunter bring two coolers, one for the meat and one for the cape and horns. I can makearrangements for the head to be mounted and shipped to the hunters address. The going rate for ashoulder mount is approximately $450.00.We have a lot of repeat customers because of the quality of the animals we are harvesting. It is a funrelaxed hunt on the base of the Mesa de Mayo. The Santa Fe trail goes across the ranch and there is alot of history in the area. If you want to have fun, this is the hunt for you.Several stories have been published in the Eastman Journal regarding the quality of the hunting we haveon this ranch. The Early Bird Deadline has been extended to January 19 th. 2013Call Del Berg for tickets at 206-947-0598 Cell (preferred) or 253-859-3510 Res.Visit our web site at www.scinw.com for more information
