The BEC Center 8The articles written by the reseachers of the BEC center are collecting more than 1000citation/year, according to the ISI-Thomson database, with an average of about 25citations per article. The study of surface-atom Casimir forces within a joint JILA-Trento collaboration, the theoretical predictions for the polarized phase of a resonantFermi gas experimentally confirmed at MIT, the joint theory-experiment work done onvortices in a superfluid of polaritons observed at EPFL, the proposal and implementationof a new strategy for phase detection in Mach-Zehnder interferometers, are a fewexamples of the most important achievements of the last two years.
