RIGHTOUS AMONG THE NATIONS - SERBIAPRAVEDNICI MEĐU NARODIMA - SRBIJAWORLD WAR 2Incomplete records show that around 1250 Serbsand Jews (819 Jewish victims) were brutally slaughteredin the Novi Sad “raid” effected from January 22to 23, 1942.Out of the total of 13,590 Jews living in the occupationzone under Hungarian authority in Serbia –Bačka, 10.527 perished, for the most part, as victimsof Auschwitz death camp.Jews from Srem were deported and killed in theJasenovac camp.U „raciji“ u Novom Sadu, po nepotpunim podacima, 21-23 januara1942. ubijeno je na najsvirepiji način oko 1250 Srba iJevreja (819 jevrejskih žrtava).Od ukupno 13.590 Jevreja koji su živeli na mađarskom okupacionompodručju u Bačkoj, život je izgubilo 10.527, većina ulogoru smrti Aušvic.Jevreji iz Srema deportovani su i ubijeni u logoru Jasenovac.The largest concentration camp in central Serbiawas the “Crveni krst” (Red Cross) camp in Niš.
