Event No. 7701 ANNOUNCEMENT & JURISDICTIONa The <strong>Sunbeam</strong> M.C.C. Ltd. will hold a Road Safety <strong>Run</strong> in Kent on Sunday, 12 th July, starting at 11.00a.m.for Veteran and Vintage motor cycles and tricycles of any make, manufactured not later than 31-12-30.In order to test interest, entries are also invited for Pre-War motorcycles and 3-wheelers up to 31-12-39 as ademonstration class only.b The event will be held under these Regulations and any Final Instructions to be issued.c This will be the 22nd running of this popular event2 VENUE, EVENT, COSTa. .Headcorn Airfield welcomes us once more to their ex-wartime grass airfield, now buzzing with civilian activityfrom old Tiger Moths to modern small aircraft, together with regular parachute drops. Facilities include toilets, cafe andaircraft museum. Headcorn Airfield is just off the A274 one mile south of Headcorn village. TN27 9xxb. Entrance and exit will be marked by <strong>Sunbeam</strong> Bannersc. We will use again the routes from the last few years for both the short and longer routes with possibly a few slightdeviations due to late roadworks. On the long run the hills provide some fine views of the Weald of Kent The <strong>Run</strong> startsand finishes at Headcorn, and is specifically chosen to suit veteran and vintage machines, avoiding busy roads. Thereare alternative morning distances of approximately 23 or 32 miles, to be pre-selected on the entry form (the alternativedistances are irrespective of machine age). The after lunch mileage is approx. 19 miles, common to all. In order to retaina sporting interest some roads are slightly twisty and narrow; such sections will be marked on the map supplied so thatcompetitors can avoid them if they wish.d. The entry fee for drivers is £8.00 for <strong>Sunbeam</strong> Club members, or £10.00 for non-members: passengers 50p.<strong>Entry</strong> fee for Pre-War machines between 1-1-31 and 31-12-39 is £5 to cover expenses.(These fees include personal accident insurance). <strong>Entry</strong> to the airfield is free, but the Club will give a donation to theBurns Unit at East Grinstead Hospital, for the use of the airfield facilities. I trust that non-members will not be offended bythe increased differential in entry fees. We very much value your participation but the club will be increasing the differentialfor all events to try and persuade more participants to join the club.e Our pre-arranged lunch stop is again at the Lord Raglan, Rabbits Cross, arriving approx. 12.00-12.30p.m.A choice of ham or cheese ploughmans lunch can be obtained for £5.50 which must be pre-paid with entries.Entrants will appreciate that the Landlord cannot take lunch orders on the day.
