formalism. We considered the application of fractional kinetics to plasmaphysics. This approach, classical indeed, is new in its application. Our aimwas to study the effects of a non-Gaussian statistics on the characteristic ofthe drift waves in fusion plasmas.The results obtained during the course of this thesis are presented here.These results have been previously presented to the fusion plasma communityas conference presentations and publications.
