Any unusual symptoms which occur after exposure (by anymode of entry) should be recorded and reported to <strong>BASF</strong> atCheadle.(i) Treatment should be symptomatic and supportive based on judgement ofphysician.(ii) If the product has been swallowed, gastric lavage with proper laryngeal control maybe necessary. For ingestion of small quantities activated charcoal as an absorbentin a dosage of 30 grams in 100 ml of water may be considered.(iii) Maintenance of ventilation and oxygen therapy to be used as required.(iv) If symptomatic therapy is indicated for control of restlessness, anxiety orconvulsions, then Diazepam is recommended as the drug of choice.5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURESSuitable extinguishing media:Possible harmful fumesin a fire:Protective equipment:Further information:Water spray, foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.Carbon monoxide, hydrogen chloride, hydrogenfluoride, hydrogen bromide, nitrogen oxides, sulphuroxides, organochloric compounds can be released.Avoid breathing smoke and fumes.Use self-contained breathing apparatus and protectiveclothing.Call the Fire Brigade at once to deal with all firesinvolving pesticides unless the fire is small andimmediately controllable. Do not allow contamination of public drainsor surface or ground waters. Dispose of fire debrisand contaminated water as advised in the DEFRApublication “Code of practice for using plant protectionproducts.”6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURESIf spilled:Wear prescribed protective clothing. Clear spillageimmediately. Contain spillage and absorb ontoearth, sand or suitable absorbent material. Collectcontaminated material and place in a marked containerfor disposal. Thoroughly wash area of spillage.
