For students who nolonger have access to their portal, wewill make sure that the portal is active assoon as the invitation email is sent out.You can log in using your student number(eight digit number) as login ID and dateof birth as password. Please note thatonly two guest tickets can be guaranteedfor each graduand attending the ceremonywho responds by the deadline.TO GRADUATE IN ABSENCEReply personally to the invitation onthe RISIS web portal by the deadline of12 October <strong>2012</strong>. This is necessary inorder to confirm the spelling of yourname for your certificate and also to letus know to which address you would likeyour certificate to be sent.Please note: Certificates will not be sent ifgraduands have not registered.DEFERRINGReply personally to the invitation on theRISIS web portal and select the optionto defer. You can defer to the next set ofceremonies in 2013. You will not receiveyour certificate until that date.If you do not register you willautomatically graduate in absence andyour certificate will not be sent.DEBTSAll debts must be cleared by Friday 12October <strong>2012</strong>. Those owing £50 or morewill not be permitted to graduate. If lessthan £50 is owed the certificate will bewithheld until the debt is fully cleared.ACADEMIC DRESSYou will not be permitted to participatein the ceremony if you are not inAcademic Dress. HENLEY BUSINESS SCHOOL GRADUATIONOn the dayT R AV ELA bus service operates betweenReading and <strong>Henley</strong> stations and theGreenlands campus on <strong>Graduation</strong> days.Tickets can be purchased onlinewww.henley.reading.ac.uk/graduation.There is parking provided at Greenlandsfor those travelling by car. Directions forgetting to Greenlands can be found atwww.henley.reading.ac.uk/about.T ICKE T SGraduands sit in a separate seating blockin the marquee and are seated in programmeorder. Please note the row andseat number will be given to you at thedoor of the marquee and it is vital you sitin the correct seat.A graduand who attends the ceremony isentitled to two guest tickets. These willbe issued on the day. Graduands do notneed a ticket for themselves.SUGGESTED DRESS FORYOUR GUESTSDress should be in keeping with theformality of the occasion.COLLECTION OF ROBESRobes will be ready for collection atthe Greenlands site on the day of yourceremony from the Institute of Directorsroom (see map on page 13).Remember to bring your order confirmationwith you on the day. Assistance willbe given with robing. Hats should beworn during the ceremony.Please return your robes to the robingreturn (see map on page 13) before youleave the Business School.GRADUAND REGISTRATIONPlease go to the ceremony marqueehalf an hour before the start of yourceremony to register. Guests should maketheir way to the marquee ten minutesbefore the start of the ceremony; theywill not be permitted to enter whilstgraduands are being registered.Marshals will give graduands theirseat number at the door. It is vital you sitin the correct seat so you are not markedas absent.A marshal will lead graduands from theirseat and process them down the centreof the marquee. DBAs and PhDs will bepresented first, followed by the MBAs andMasters. After the presentation formulahas been announced the Dean will presentgraduands individually. You will ascend ashort flight of steps, shake hands with theChancellor or Vice-Chancellor and descendby the same route. You will then collectyour certificate and return to your seat.Please note if you are late you will not beable to join the ceremony and will beadmitted in absence to your degree.CHILDREN: IMPORTANT NOTICEPlease note that, if you bring any childrenon to the Business School site on the day ofthe graduation ceremony, you are entirelyresponsible for their care and safety.The river is a particular hazard; youshould exercise great care at all times andavoid the risk of any child falling intothe river by ensuring that the children inyour party do not go too close to the riverbank. There are other areas of water,e.g. ornamental ponds and a stream onthe site which may also be hazardous.For this purpose, the definition of a childis anyone under the age of 18 years.Children are allowed into the marqueebut please note children aged three orolder will need their own ticket, two andunder can sit on laps. There is a crècheavailable onsite which must be booked inadvance on your portal.ADMISSION TO THEBUSINESS SCHOOL GROUNDSAdmission to the Business School groundson the day of the congregation is limitedto those who have indicated that theywill attend and their guests.Please note that dogs, except for guidedogs, are not allowed on BusinessSchool property.CEREMONY PROGRAMMEA programme giving the order ofproceedings at the ceremony and acomplete list of all those graduatingwill be available on the day of thecongregation.CLOAKROOM FACILITIESCloakroom facilities are available for hangingoutdoor coats, etc. There are also securelockers, which are operated by inserting a£1 coin. The coin is returned after use.BUSINESS SCHOOL SHOPThe Business School shop will be openwith a range of <strong>Henley</strong> Business Schoolmerchandise, wine and jewellery(see map on page 13).EXTRA GUEST TICKETSEach graduand who attends thecongregation is entitled to two guesttickets. If you wish to be added to thewaiting list for a third please indicate thison your portal when you reply. There isno guarantee of extra tickets.Extras will be allocated by the BusinessSchool three weeks before the ceremonyso please do not make arrangementswhich rely on extra tickets being madeavailable to you.
