Section 6. The Board <strong>of</strong> Trustees may waive, extend, or modify any financial obligation duefrom a member. The Board <strong>of</strong> Trustees shall establish procedures with the intent <strong>of</strong> preservingthe privacy <strong>of</strong> any member requesting modification <strong>of</strong> financial obligations.Section 7. The membership privileges <strong>of</strong> members who have not met their financial obligationsto the congregation may be suspended by a majority vote <strong>of</strong> the Board <strong>of</strong> Trustees. The membershall be notified in writing at least 30 days prior to such a vote <strong>and</strong> provided with an opportunityto be heard.Section 8. In addition, the Board, by majority vote, may suspend the privileges <strong>of</strong> a member whoengages in conduct inimical to the purposes <strong>of</strong> the congregation. The member shall be notified inwriting at least 30 days prior to such a vote <strong>and</strong> provided with an opportunity to be heard.Further, a member who has been suspended by the Board may choose to appeal to the fullmembership.Section 9. Resignations from the congregation shall be presented to the Board <strong>of</strong> Trustees inwriting. Resignation shall not relieve any obligations due the congregation up to the time <strong>of</strong>resignation.ARTICLE IV: MeetingsSection 1. The Fiscal Year shall begin July 1 <strong>and</strong> end June 30.Section 2. The annual meeting <strong>of</strong> the congregation shall be held within 60 days prior to thecommencement <strong>of</strong> the fiscal year. At this meeting, reports shall be submitted by the president,the rabbi, <strong>and</strong> such other <strong>of</strong>ficers, staff, affiliates, <strong>and</strong> committees as may be requested to do soby the Board <strong>of</strong> Trustees. The Board shall present for approval a budget for the coming fiscalyear, <strong>and</strong> trustees <strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficers shall be elected at the annual meeting. Every member <strong>of</strong> thecongregation shall be notified by mail at least thirty days prior to the holding <strong>of</strong> the annualmeeting.Section 3. Special meetings <strong>of</strong> the congregation may be called by the president or shall be calledat the request <strong>of</strong> a majority <strong>of</strong> the Board <strong>of</strong> Trustees or on written application <strong>of</strong> not less than 10percent <strong>of</strong> the membership. The call for a special meeting shall set forth the purpose <strong>of</strong> themeeting, <strong>and</strong> written notice there<strong>of</strong> shall be mailed to the membership at least 30 days prior tothe time <strong>of</strong> such meeting, unless the President, in the case <strong>of</strong> an emergency, determines that ashorter notice <strong>and</strong> another means <strong>of</strong> notification are required. No business shall be transacted atsuch meeting except that specified in the notice.Section 4. The quorum for a congregational meeting shall be 25 voting members.Section 5. Only members who are present at a meeting will be entitled to vote. Proxy votes willnot be accepted.
