Mammalian fauna: Chaghai desert 24a good population of ungulates. Considering thesefactors, we conclude that cheetah populationhas been extirpated from the Chagai Desert, though it might be occasionally vagrant fromneighboring populations in Iran. Loss of naturalprey, persecution by local community and landusechanges are the major factors contributing tothis loss.AcknowledgementsThe authors gratefully acknowledge thefinancial support and facilitation provided by theTethyan Copper Company (TCC), Hagler BaillyPakistan, and Halcrow Pakistan.References1.
