The insertion loss is 0.5 dB in Ka-Band,increasing to 2.0 dB in D-Band. The direct reading attenuatorhas low VSWR and small variation in phase shift overMWAMotorized WaveguideAttenuatorfrequency.The series MWA consists of a rotary vane device and acontroller. Attenuation is controlled by GPIB or RS-232Cinterface. A DigiswitchTM on the front panel of the controllercan also control the attenuation. The heart of the controller isa microprocessor that drives an accurate stepper motor toachieve the desired attenuation.
