in Burghausen. Traditional jazz streaming<br />
and current genres can be expected at the<br />
International Jazz Week in Burghausen. The<br />
following famous international jazz artists<br />
have been there: Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie,<br />
Michel Petrucciani, Albert Mangelsdorff, Chet<br />
Baker, Dave Brubeck, Dizzy Gillespie, Lionel<br />
Hampton, Oscar Peterson, Ray Brown, Stan<br />

Venuti for example. Since a few <strong>years</strong> the<br />
International Jazz Week in Burghausen has<br />
been enlarged by the Jazz Summer Night and<br />

MAR 28 International Music Parade. More<br />
than 400 brass and military musicians from<br />
eleven nations will take part on the seventh<br />
international music parade in Munich. A multifarious<br />

the end <strong>of</strong> this three hours event all bands will<br />
unite to a big orchestra <strong>of</strong> the nations and will<br />
play a medley <strong>of</strong> the most famous marsh<br />

Theresienwiese. An amusement park with<br />

MAY 09 - MAY 11 "Sachs Franken Classic".<br />
The "Sachs Franken Classic" is a part <strong>of</strong> the<br />
German Rally Companionship. More than 150<br />
automobiles from different manufacturers and<br />
epochs will come to the "Sachs Franconia<br />
Classic" in Bad Kissingen. The rally will lead<br />
through the Franconian wine countryside for<br />
instance. The event ends with the classic<br />
cars´ presentation, a meeting <strong>of</strong> classic cars<br />
in Bad Kissingen and the presentation ceremony<br />
at the "Wandelhalle" <strong>of</strong> the spa resort<br />
Bad Kissingen. During the following <strong>years</strong> the<br />
"Sachs Franken Classic" became a top event<br />
<strong>of</strong> the German classic car sports.<br />

MUC FLYER<br />
The Goldsteig <strong>–</strong><br />
new "Quality-Hiking-Trail" <strong>of</strong> Germany<br />
The Goldsteig opened on October 31, <strong>200</strong>7 and<br />
belongs to the longest, multisided and accredited<br />
hiking trails <strong>of</strong> Germany.<br />
The trail <strong>of</strong>fers approximately 660 kilometers <strong>of</strong><br />
hiking terrain with attractive scenery, cultural<br />
sightseeing and a hiking guidance system along<br />
the way. The trail stretches across long passages<br />
through the Upper Palatinate and Bavarian<br />
Forest, northeast <strong>of</strong> Munich.<br />
Five nature parks with their diverse landscapes<br />
and low mountain range can be explored along<br />
the trail.<br />
Mount Kaitersberg<br />
Along the 660 kilometers <strong>of</strong> hiking trail, one can<br />
find hotel accommodations and restaurants,<br />
<strong>of</strong>fering typical Bavarian cuisine and packed<br />
lunches. Services such as a hiking expert, weather<br />
information, trail maps and a hotel reservation<br />
service are also available.<br />

New hotel planned at Munich Airport<br />
Munich Airport has laid the groundwork for yet<br />
another major enhancement to its infrastructure<br />
due to increased demand for on-site accommodation.<br />
Novotel, the Accor Group´s business and family<br />
brand, is to build and operate a new hotel at<br />
Munich Airport. The start <strong>of</strong> construction is slated<br />
for early <strong>200</strong>8, and is scheduled to open in<br />
the fall <strong>of</strong> <strong>200</strong>9.<br />
The new Novotel will be located on the central<br />
access road leading up to the airport. It will be<br />
linked to the airport´s rapid train station, and<br />
will also <strong>of</strong>fer a bus service to shuttle guests<br />
comfortably between the hotel and the airport.<br />
The property will <strong>of</strong>fer 250 rooms and will be<br />
located on the airport premises, within easy<br />
reach <strong>of</strong> both terminals.<br />
In addition to queen-size beds, there will be s<strong>of</strong>as<br />
in each room, to accommodate families with<br />
children. The hotel is targeting both the business<br />
and leisure traveller, particularly families.<br />

Munich Airport gets<br />
even more "powerful"<br />
It is now easier for passengers to recharge electronic<br />
devices in Terminal 2.<br />
The power points are easier to find as they are<br />
located in the waiting zones near the departure<br />
gates. Passengers can use the time before boarding<br />
to charge notebooks, mobile phones and<br />
MP3 players.<br />
The power points carry 230 alternating volts and<br />
can be used by double-pole euro connectors,<br />
contour connectors or German protect contact<br />
connectors.<br />

The Tannheimer Tal <strong>–</strong><br />
a paradise for nature lovers<br />
The Tannheimer Tal with its clear mountain lakes<br />
and idyllic villages is located 1,100 meters<br />
northwest <strong>of</strong> Tirol (Austria). Tannheimer Tal is<br />
known to be one <strong>of</strong> the most popular hiking destinations<br />
in Austria.<br />
With its more than 300 kilometers <strong>of</strong> marked<br />
paths the Tannheimer Tal at the border to the Bavarian<br />
Allgäu is in summer as well as in winter<br />
a paradise for nature lovers and outdoor sportsman.<br />
There are 70 kilometers <strong>of</strong> winter hiking<br />
trails and a 140-kilometer long cross-country ski<br />
run, which is a highlight in the Tannheimer Tal.<br />

Commemorating the 850th anniversary <strong>of</strong> the founding <strong>of</strong> Munich, the Münchner Stadtmuseum<br />
(Munich City Museum) will open a new and exciting permanent exhibition: “Typically Munich!”<br />
For the first time a comprehensive presentation<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>Munich´s</strong> history and culture, from the founding<br />
legend up to the present will be on exhibit.<br />
The newly renovated and decorated galleries<br />
occupying three floors <strong>of</strong> the historical arsenal<br />
<strong>of</strong>fer the visitor a completely new perspective<br />
at St.-Jakobs-Platz.<br />
Exclusive highlights from the vast collections <strong>–</strong><br />
a "best-<strong>of</strong>" selection, illustrating the characteristic<br />

Tannheimer Tal<br />
balloon festival January 6-20, <strong>200</strong>8 with over 25<br />
giant balloons. A balloon glowing event takes<br />
place on January 9, <strong>200</strong>8.<br />
A special jewel in the Tannheimer Tal is the nature<br />
protection area around lake Vilsalp, which<br />
is home to more than 700 unique plants and diverse<br />

Tegernsee Valley <strong>–</strong> one <strong>of</strong><br />
Bavaria´s jewel boxes<br />
Lake Tegernsee<br />
Tegernsee Valley is located only 50 kilometers<br />
