It reduces userfatigue by preventing excessive hand spread. The advantage:Comfortable and fatigue free working.Erem cutters and pliers with ergonomichandlesWork Related Upper Limb Disorder (WRULD)can be caused by positional fatigue or nervedamage brought about by the repeated use ofnon-ergonomic hand tools, otherwise knownas Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI).WRULDS is a direct consequence of insufficientergonomics in manufacturing processesand working practices. To reduce the factorswhich cause WRULDS, Erem has developed arange of tools with ergonomic handles (Series2400 MagicSense). The handle shape and special materials ensurea soft feel, operating comfort and safety. Thespecially shaped handles ensure that the grippingpressure is evenly spread over the entirepalm of the hand. The thumb and fingersautomatically find their best position. The effortthat has to be exerted by the user is reduced, thereby reducing hand fatigue. The anti-slip surface provides excellent grip. The material is highly resistant to perspiration, water, oil and chemicals. The handles are ESDsafeand are easily interchangeable.32 Erem impresses

Erem CutErem ServiceCut shapeThere are three blade options, whichdetermine the shape left on a lead aftercutting. (see also P. 35)Cutting edge1. Semi-flush2. Flush3. Super full flushErem cutters are noted for their ease of use,one of the reasons for this is the ability of theblade to cut equally well over its full length. This promotes operator comfort and reducesfatigue.Semi-flush cutters offer the best performanceand the longest service life. Super full flushcutters leave a flat wire end with minimaleffort and prevent components from beingsubjected to load. The advantage:High level of user comfort thanks to specialcutting edge.Rockwell hardnessThe cutting blades of Erem cutters are hardenedto Rockwell 63-65 HRc by an inductionheating process. Continuous process controlensures that the blades achieve the correctlevel of hardening and are not embrittled. The advantage:This level of hardening plus the high-gradetool steel used in the manufacture of thetools and continuous process control promotean exceptionally long service life.Re-sharpeningErem is your service partner. All Erem side andtip cutters except those with carbide insertblades can be re-sharpened up-to three times.Carriage charges will apply. The advantage:The re-sharpened tool is as good as new, itslife is extended and costs are reduced.Replacement partsErem cutters and pliers and their componentparts are warranted against manufacturingdefects. The Series 2400 MagicSense offers anoptimised ergonomic shape and an improvedgrade of hardness. The strongest and most robusthead size for general cuttingapplications in electronics, cutslarge wire diameters.34Choosing the right tool

CutCutThere are three blade options, whichdetermine the shape left on a lead aftercutting.Semi-flushThis cut leaves a pyramidal tip at the end ofthe wire. It is particularly suitable for standardjobs where the final shape does not play a significantrole. Cutters with this cut are suitablefor both soft copper wires and very hard wiressuch as stainless steel.Erem cut Super full flush:perfect flush cutStandard cut"Super full flush“FlushThis cut leaves a much smaller tip at the endof the wire than the semi-flush cut – withoutreducing the cutting capacity. The cuttingedges are finer than on semi-flush cutters. Theeffort exerted when cutting is less and the loadon the component is reduced. Flush wire endsreduce the effort needed to fit components onprinted-circuit boards. Erem guarantees precisecutting even after frequent use.Super full flushOnly Erem offers you a super full flush cut. This cut provides absolutely flush wire ends.No rework is needed. Cutters with this cut areabsolutely precision-ground and sharpened. The effort exerted when cutting is low, as isthe load on the component caused by the cut.Soldering tags in soldering-bath procedures areprevented. Cutters of this type are used inmicroelectronics, space travel or medical technology. These cutters are suitable for softwires.Choosing the right tool 35
