When the school bus is ready to begin or continue its trip.2. Anytime the school bus is moving.Buckling Up Properly1. The passenger should sit as flat againstthe seat back as possible to achievethe best possible fit of the lap-shoulderbelt on the passenger’s upper and lowertorso. A2. Pull out shoulder belt webbing from theupper seat back. Do not let the belt gettwisted. (The shoulder belt could possiblylock if you pull the belt across you veryquickly. If this happens, let the beltretract slightly to unlock it. Then pull thebelt across you more slowly.) B3. Place the lap-shoulder belt over theshoulder and around the passenger’supper body. CAB7. Position the lap portion of the beltso that the webbing is below thepassenger’s waist, not over thestomach or abdomen area. The lapportion of the belt must be low andsnug over the bony structure of thepassenger’s hips. F8. SNUGPull up on the shoulder portion of thelap-shoulder belt to tighten the lapportion. GThe shoulder portion of the belt mustbe snug across the chest and in thecenter of the passenger’s shoulder. HFG4. Insert the latch plate into the matchingseat belt buckle on the lower seatcushion. D5. CLICKListen for an audible click when the latchplate is fastened.6. TUGCheck that the buckle connection issecure by pulling on the shoulder portionof the lap-shoulder belt. ECD9. Position the shoulder height adjuster ator just above the passenger’s shoulder.The shoulder belt should not cross thepassenger’s face or neck. I10. Make sure the lap-shoulder belt issnug and lies flat against thepassenger. There should be notwisting of the webbing. JHIEJUnbuckling Properly1. Push the red buckle release button and remove the latch plate from the buckle. Thebuckle has a release mechanism that separates the latch plate from the buckle. A2. Allow the shoulder belt to retract and stow in the upper seat back.3. As a courtesy to the next passenger, move the shoulder height adjuster up toits highest position. BAB

Do not sitoutside the edgeof your seatcompartment.9. Do not sitimproperly bysitting on yourknees, facingrearward, orreclining sideways.WARNING! DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY can occur:• Follow all instructions on the restraint and in the seat user manual.
