Click here for answers to some Frequently Asked Questions about theprogram.EligibilityAll actively employed IAM-represented employees governed by the collectivebargaining agreement between <strong>The</strong> Boeing Company and the InternationalAssociation of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Districts 24, 70, and751 are eligible to receive a reimbursement of up to $75 for approved safetyshoes according to Joint <strong>Program</strong>s guidelines. Click here to view thoseprogram guidelines.We encourage employees to let the sales personnel know they work forBoeing. This will help ensure they receive the proper itemized receipt and insome cases they may even receive a discount.Employees can submit a reimbursement application form once per calendaryear to cover their purchase of one pair of safety shoes up to the $75 limit.Applications must be accompanied by the original itemized sales receipt.Once we receive the application and original itemized receipt and are able toverify the purchase, reimbursements are uploaded to payroll and are reflectedon the employee's scheduled paycheck.<strong>Reimbursement</strong> time is subject to our staff being able to verify the purchasein a timely manner.Provisions and requirements of the <strong>Safety</strong> <strong>Shoe</strong> <strong>Reimbursement</strong> <strong>Program</strong> aresubject to change according to the policies determined by the IAM/BoeingJoint <strong>Program</strong>s National Governing Board.What is a "Mandatory Compliance" <strong>Safety</strong> <strong>Shoe</strong> Area?An area designated as requiring the use of safety shoes based on a riskassessment performance by local SHEA, in accordance with OSHA standards.What does "Company Directed" mean?<strong>The</strong> immediate supervisor of the requesting employee can approve/authorizethe employee to go above and beyond any defined safety standard. <strong>The</strong>supervisor concurs that the employee desires to improve their personal footsafety and authorizes the employee to pursue reimbursement for thepurchase of approved safety shoes. This does not imply that safety shoes arerequired for the area or this employee.

In general, thecategories above are listed as shoes available for reimbursementconsideration. Specifically, industrial grade/work style shoes and bootsadvertised and sold specifically as safety shoes are those most likely toqualify as "approved". A shoe or boot that is documented as meeting ANSIstandards is a great reference.
