The Exciting Event You’ve Been Waiting For!
WHAT IS THE WALK-A-THON?
� A PTO fundraising event in which all B.D. Gullett Elementary students and staff participate in a fitness
awareness event; families are encouraged to participate.
� Students will get pledges, then run/walk one lap on Walk-a-Thon Day.
� Funds will support much needed classroom supplies and equipment.
� Friday, February 18 th during “Specials” time.
WHAT DO STUDENTS DO FOR THE WALK-A-THON?
� Have a TON OF FUN!
� Use their pledge form to get sponsors for our school.
� Proudly wear a Gullett t-shirt (or Gullett colors) on Walk-a-Thon Day.
� Run/walk approximately one-mile distance during “Specials” time on Walk-a-Thon Day.
� All students (Grades K-5) will participate whether or not they have any pledges.
WHAT DO STUDENTS GET FROM THE WALK-A-THON?
� Students will gain an understanding of the importance of exercise.
� Students will benefit from PTO-sponsored programs (enrichment programs, classroom supplies and
technology, field trips and more).
� Every student will receive a healthy snack after Chompy’s Stomp.
� Students have a chance to win fabulous prizes…details on back!
WHAT ABOUT PLEDGES?
� Get as many sponsors as possible to pledge a set amount since only one lap will be walked; pledges
will not be “per lap” walked.
� Please do not allow your children to go door-to-door alone to solicit pledges.
� Top pledge producers will be eligible for cool prizes…details on back!
� If your family prefers not to solicit pledges, please consider making a donation to help achieve our goal
of $10,000.
� All pledges must be returned by 11:00 am on Friday, February 18 to be eligible for prizes.
� Make checks payable to Gullett Elementary PTO.
� Prize winners will be announced Tuesday morning, Feb 22.

must be returned by 11:00 am on Friday, February 18 to be eligible for prizes.

Top 3 Dollar Amount Pledge Producers: Those students who raises the most amount of money for the
entire school will have the following prizes to choose from…1 st place winner will have first choice, 2 nd place
winner will have second choice, etc.

- RipStik Skateboard - Mountain Bike
- Remote Control Helicopter
The Student Who Brings In The Most Number of Sponsors: will receive two tickets to Bounce U.
CLASS PRIZES
All Classes That Raise $250 or More: Launch water balloons at Ms. Hayes. (The student who raises the
most money in each of these classes will be the first to launch water balloons!)
Top Pledge Producing Class in School: Field Trip to Eden Farms and a commemorative class photo with
Ms. Hayes and Gullett Gator Chompy.
