OBERFLEX PRODUCT RANGEOberflexOberflex is a high pressure laminate with a unique difference– it features a real wood veneer finish.Oberflex is a popular material for architects and designersbecause it combines the aesthetic beauty of real wood withthe performance and durability of high pressure laminate.This means a tough surface which is abrasion, impact andscratch resistant and also resistant to UV light and cigaretteburns.Oberflex is available in over 100 different wood speciesranging from dark woods such as Mahogany and Wengethrough to lighter Sycamore, Ash and Birch. There areseveral tints available and the veneer slicing method used inits manufacture gives specifiers the choice of straight-grainor flowered veneer, as well as bookmatched or randommatchedfinishes. It can be bonded onto most substrates toprovide a visually appealing and low maintenance backdropwith long life cycle performance.The range comprises several collections and included in theUK offering are:OBERFLEX AND PRESTIGE OBERFLEX –Comprehensive standard range of pre-finished wood veneerlaminates, available in a vast selection of veneer species,with matt, satin, brushed or relief textures and various tintoptions.CHIC AND POP – The new Chic & Pop Collection inspiredfrom current trends, combines two radically opposed styles.The Chic Collection introduces new whitened, grey, naturaland chocolate tints applied on walnut and zebrano woodveneers, together with a new Astrakhan finish. A classical,timeless, elegant and chic collection. The Pop Collectionreveals the natural structure of the wood under new andunexpected tints. These vibrant fluorescent tints, never seenon natural wood veneers, are offering offbeat and daringanswers to modern, coloured and pop ideas.TEXTURED WOODS – A highly effective collection ofnuances of white, black and grey combined with texturedveneers. There are various finishes available including atremendous pearlescent finish. This blend of silky and metaleffect adds more than ever an amazing lightness to thegouged, clawed, sea, hammered, gator and sables woodtextures.NATURAL SHADES – In addition to the already impressiveselection of Textured Woods, the Natural Shades collectionhas been produced using a unique process adapted from thegouged, sea-wood and gator patterns and combined withveneer species. The end result is a striking shadow andcolour contrast with very natural nuances.SPICED WOOD – A collection created using variouscoloured tints on contrasting veneers which are thenprocessed to create a highly attractive striped two-toneeffect. OBERFLEX PRODUCT RANGEObersoundObersound are ready-for-use panels consisting of asubstrate bonded on one side with an Oberflex real woodveneer laminate, and counterbalanced on the other side. Thecustom-made panels can be supplied entirely machined,either plain or perforated, depending on acoustic andaesthetic requirements. They are suitable for both wall andceiling installations and offer a particularly efficient surfacetreatment which is resistant to scratches, abrasion, UV lights,chemical products and fire.Obersound 5.5Oberflex appointed design agency ‘5.5 Designers’ to reviewthe Obersound panels and propose a new collection ofpanels offering an entirely new response to architects andspecifiers calling for a range of acoustic panels manufacturedfrom Oberflex.Acoustic products generally have standardised perforations,with the patterns resulting from tools and productionconstraints. They are often thought out for the sole purposeof optimising costs and performances to the detriment ofaesthetic quality.The development of new production tools incollaboration with 5.5 Designers meant that new andoriginal perforation patterns could be created. Far andabove just a catalogue of acoustic performances, theyintroduced a collection concept as done in the fashionworld. These proposals now offer an exciting realpotential for architects and specifiers, who are increasinglysensitive to the details of their constructions.Deck d’OberThe Deck d’Ober Collection is a range of boat deck jointedsolid wooden strips. Deck d’Ober panels can be used toachieve curved surfaces, such as a bathtub apron, or columnwrapping. It is available in four wood species, Teak, Wenge,Bubinga and Doussie, and is generally supplied unfinished.The strips are joined together on installation with a choiceof black or white mastic, according to the aestheticpreference of the specifier. The Teak finish is also suitablefor external applications and for use in very humidenvironments such as swimming pools or shower rooms.
