USA – Purple Heart (unnamed) in WW2 named case <strong>of</strong> issue with lapel button, plusoriginal January 19, 1945 dated Western Union telegram to Mrs. Bernice R. Sego, 412East 36 th Street, Savannah, Georgia: “Regret to in<strong>for</strong>m you your husb<strong>and</strong> Staff SergeantLeonard E. Sego was slightly injured in action Twenty Six December in Luxembourg. Mailaddress follows direct from hospital with details. Dunlop, Acting The Adjutant General.”Telegram had been folded <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong>re is a tear along one fold <strong>and</strong> some minor edge tears.Medal <strong>and</strong> case in excellent condition. With some research indicating Sego enlisted 7December 1943, was released from active duty 4 January 1946, <strong>and</strong> died in Florida in1969.46. USA – Lot <strong>of</strong> 2: WW 1 Victory Medal with clasps “Ypres-Lys”, “Meuse-Argonne” <strong>and</strong>“Defensive Sector” on original ribbon <strong>and</strong> brooch, plus a celluloid button with a colordepiction <strong>of</strong> a warship under steam marked “U.S. CRUISER / NEW YORK”.47. AUSTRIA – 1873 Campaign Medal, on original tri-fold ribbon. In addition to beingawarded <strong>for</strong> a variety <strong>of</strong> pre-WW1 campaigns in Europe, this medal was authorized <strong>for</strong>Austrian participants in <strong>the</strong> 1900-1901 China Expedition against <strong>the</strong> Boxers.48. Awarded <strong>for</strong> various campaigns against <strong>the</strong> Yolo b<strong>and</strong>it leader Kamlon <strong>and</strong> hisb<strong>and</strong> between 1948 – 1955.50. USA – Lot <strong>of</strong> 3 plus: Environmental Protection Agency Superior Service Medal; ArmyCommendation Medal in plush case with 3 lapel pins <strong>and</strong> ribbon bar; National DefenseService Medal, in box <strong>of</strong> issue dated 1992, plus 4 enameled DI insignia, pair <strong>of</strong> E-7Sergeant First Class insignia, USAF ribbon bar with 3 full-size OLCs, <strong>and</strong> small “State <strong>of</strong>Texas” planchet (suspension missing).51. COLUMBIA – Order <strong>of</strong> Merit General Jose Maria Cordoba, Comm<strong>and</strong>er grade. Bronzegilt<strong>and</strong> enamels, with full neck cravat.52. AFGHANISTAN - Medal "From <strong>the</strong> Grateful Afghan People". Brass & enamels. Thismedal was instituted by <strong>the</strong> Communist government <strong>of</strong> Afghanistan <strong>and</strong> produced at<strong>the</strong> Soviet mint. Issued to all Soviet servicemen in Afghanistan.53. BULGARIA – Medal <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> War <strong>of</strong> 1912-1913 (Balkan War). On original military, trifoldribbon.54. SOVIET UNION – Medal <strong>for</strong> Combat Merit. An early example #’d 1150784. On originalribbon <strong>and</strong> brass suspension device.55. USA – Lot <strong>of</strong> 2: Un<strong>of</strong>ficial <strong>Medals</strong> supporting <strong>the</strong> relationship between United States –Great Britain. Both medals identical except <strong>for</strong> finish – gilt <strong>and</strong> silver. Obverse depictsAmerican eagle <strong>and</strong> inscription “United We St<strong>and</strong>.” Reverse shows Saint George slaying<strong>the</strong> dragon with inscription “Saint George <strong>for</strong> Engl<strong>and</strong>.” Nice quality, appear to be WW2era.56. INDIA – Pannier Star named to “TJ1914 NSUB MANI RAM, ARTY.” On original ribbon.
