It offers a stable political environment and has a government that welcomesboth foreign and local investors. Fakultät Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik und GeodäsieUniversität Stuttgart07technik zu intensivieren und nach undnach langfristige Kooperationen aufzubauen.Dies sollte sich sowohl aufdie Attraktivität der Praktikumsstellen,aber auch auf weitere gemeinsameAktivitäten der Fakultät mit der Industriehinsichtlich Forschung und Lehregünstig auswirken.MTU war an unserem Vorschlagsehr interessiert, da sie mit denStudenten aus Stuttgart - speziell füranspruchsvolle Praktikumsstellen inForschung, Entwicklung und Fertigung- sehr gute Erfahrung gemachthat. Da sich die Fakultät mit an derAuswahl der Studenten beteiligenwird, sah man bei MTU auch vondieser Seite her Vorteile. Man wurdesehr schnell konkret und entschied,in einem Pilot-Projekt schon diesesJahr mit einem Versuch zu starten.In Plakaten von MTU wurden 10Praktikumstellen für Stuttgart ausgeschriebenund Information über denEmail-Verteiler verschickt. Die Angebotestießen auf großes Interessebei der Studentenschaft, so dass sichfast 50 Studenten bewarben. Es gabeine Auswahl und Bewerbungsgesprächemit den Firmenvertretern ander Universität Stuttgart. Das Ganzehat sich für alle drei Seiten, Studentenschaft,Fakultät und MTU, als sehrErfolg versprechend präsentiert undwird im nächsten Jahr fortgesetzt.Leider startete die Aktion etwas spätund mehrere Bewerber sagten imLaufe des Auswahlverfahrens wegenanderer Angebote ab, 7 Praktikawurden direkt vergeben und mehrereBewerber in den Praktika-Pool derMTU übergeführt.Die Fakultät möchte diese Aktivitätenfortsetzen und weitere Unternehmenansprechen. Es soll sichdaraus eine Art Praktikumsbörse fürunsere Studenten ergeben. Wie diesunter Einsatz des Internet und guterWeb-Seiten möglich wird, wird in dennächsten Tagen diskutiert.GAERO-FestAm 8.Juli 2005 fand die traditionelleAbsolventenfeier unserer Fakultät,das GAERO-Fest, statt. Die Organisatorenum Prof. Ewald Krämer und Dr.Hau-Po Mok vom Institut für Aerodynamikund Gasdynamik warteten dabeimit einigen Überraschungen auf.Der festliche Teil wurde vom Schönbuchbrass-Quintettmusikalisch eröffnetund begleitet und durch optischePräsentationen aus den BereichenLuft- und Raumfahrt, Geodäsie undErdbeobachtung wirkungsvoll ergänzt.So gab es u.a. die Darstellung derzwölf Institute der Fakultät als Kugelnauf spiralförmigen Flugbahnen umdie als Erde symbolisierte UniversitätStuttgart und die Anleihen bei „StarTrek“ für die neue Generation unsererAbsolventen. Der Festredner, HerrTilo Holighaus, Geschäftsführer derFa. Schempp-Hirth (Kirchheim/Teck),sprach über seine Erfahrungen, Berufund Leidenschaft zum Fliegen zuverbinden. Begeisternd berichteteAlexander Grossmann über seinenvon der Hermann Reissner-Stiftungunterstützten Studienaufenthalt inSpanien und dankte Frau Reissnerfür die engagierte und fortwährendeUnterstützung unserer Fakultät. MarkFerch gab im Rahmen der Absolventenredeeinen Einblick in die „Freudenund Leiden“ seiner Studienzeit.Erfreulicherweise konnten in diesemJahr durch großzügige Spenden unddurch die Fördervereine der beidenStudienrichtungen der Fakultät eineReihe von Preisen vergeben werden.Herr Alexander Epple erhielt denALSTOM-Preis als bester Absolventdes Studienganges Luft - und Raumfahrttechnik.Die beste Absolventin des Studienganges„Geodäsie und Geoinformatik“,Frau Susanne Becker, wurde mitdem Karl-Ramsayer Preis geehrt.Der Verein „Freunde des StudiengangsGeodäsie und Geoinformatikder Universität Stuttgart e.V.“(F2GeoS) zeichnete Herrn ChristianThamm für die beste Diplomarbeit indiesem Studiengang aus. Die ausgezeichnetenStudienarbeiten vonHerrn Benedikt Alt und Herrn MarcSchwarzbach wurden ebenso wie diebeste theoretische Diplomarbeit vonHerrn Jens Utzmann, vom neugegründetenVerein der „Freunde der LuftundRaumfahrttechnik der UniversitätStuttgart e.V.“ gewürdigt.Nach der Übergabe der Diplom-Urkunden durch Prof. Kleusberg undProf. Munz und die Vorstellung derReissner-Stipendiaten wurden die imletzten Jahr Promovierten und Habilitiertengeehrt und der Festakt musikalischbeendet.Das anschließende „Grillfest“ wurdediesmal von den „Spielen der Gaeropiade“begleitet. Dabei konnten verschiedensteaerodynamische Effekteim sportlichen Wettstreit der Instituteund Gäste erprobt werden, welchevom Bogenschiessen über Ballonfl ügebis zu „effektiven Antriebssystemen“reichten. Eine Aufzählung der Gewinner(und Verlierer) der amüsantenWettbewerbe würde jedoch hier zuweit gehen. Daher an dieser Stelle vorallem ein „Dankeschön“ an die Organisatorenvom IAG, der Fachschaft,dem Dekanat und an alle anderenHelfer.
