39 Muscular Cramps/Spasm, Calf Muscles<br />

About Leg cramps are painful contractions of the muscle that happen involuntarily. A common site for leg cramps are the calf muscles. Severe leg cramp<br />

may cause damage to the muscle. Fibres of the muscle may be torn due to the shear strength of the muscle contraction. If this happens the<br />

muscle will be painful for some time afterwards.<br />

Treatment General activation and smoothing of surrounding muscles and connective tissue in order to increase circulation locally, and get a muscular<br />

relaxation. Do not treat in the acute phase or if there is ongoing bleeding or hemorrhage.<br />

Where Muscles in the affected area. Gastrocnemius, Soleus, Tibialis Anterior and Peroneal muscles. Apply over muscles and soft tissue, the treatment<br />

may feel uncomfortable in bony areas.<br />
