During its most recent meeting in Rotterdam on 21-22/10/2010, the Management
Board discussed in detail issues related to logistics and CCS. Mr Bert Lagendijk
(L.B.H. Group) described the highly diversified scope of logistics activities related to
coal transshipments in Rotterdam. In addition, the Management Board learned
details about the EU-funded CCS demonstration project of E.ON and GDF-Suez at
the power plant in Maasvlakte and inspected the pilot project CATO, which is already
in operation; it utilises a downstream process (so-called post-combustion) to wash
out more than 99% of the CO2.
