The Department <strong>of</strong> Family ConsumerScience promotes the health <strong>and</strong>well-being <strong>of</strong> individuals <strong>and</strong> familiesin today’s society by combiningscience with pr<strong>of</strong>essionalism <strong>and</strong>integrity. Our students are trained in anenvironment that fosters the integration<strong>of</strong> knowledge into practice with a focuson positively impacting the quality <strong>of</strong>life for the people they serve.<strong>Dietetics</strong> is one <strong>of</strong> four major optionswithin the department.The <strong>Dietetics</strong> Option<strong>and</strong> Didactic Programin <strong>Dietetics</strong> (DPD)The <strong>Dietetics</strong> Program at Minnesota State Mankatoprovides students pursuing a dietetics career thehighest quality advisory, academic <strong>and</strong> interactiveopportunities <strong>and</strong> to develop their confidence <strong>and</strong>competency for advancement following graduationto supervised practice, graduate studies or relatedemployment.All dietetics majors are part <strong>of</strong> the DPD, anaccredited four-year program that is the first <strong>of</strong> foursteps toward becoming a Registered Dietitian (RD).<strong>Dietetics</strong> majors study foods, food servicemanagement, nutrition <strong>and</strong> clinical dietetics.
