Our students are trained in anenvironment that fosters the integrationof knowledge into practice with a focuson positively impacting the quality oflife for the people they serve.Dietetics is one of four major optionswithin the department.The Dietetics Optionand Didactic Programin Dietetics (DPD)The Dietetics Program at Minnesota State Mankatoprovides students pursuing a dietetics career thehighest quality advisory, academic and interactiveopportunities and to develop their confidence andcompetency for advancement following graduationto supervised practice, graduate studies or relatedemployment.All dietetics majors are part of the DPD, anaccredited four-year program that is the first of foursteps toward becoming a Registered Dietitian (RD).Dietetics majors study foods, food servicemanagement, nutrition and clinical dietetics. Thismajor helps prepare men and women for careers asclinical, administrative/managerial and communitydietitians.Career opportunities are described in detail at theAcademy of Nutrition and Dietetics web site at www.eatright.org.
