HOW TO TRAVEL<br />

AROUND WARSAW?<br />

The best way <strong>to</strong> enjoy the ambiance and energy<br />

of the c<strong>it</strong>y is <strong>to</strong> see <strong>it</strong> on foot. However, <strong>to</strong> reach<br />

different parts of <strong>Warsaw</strong>, you may need <strong>to</strong> use<br />

the c<strong>it</strong>y’s extensive network of public transport.<br />

The developed network of connections will bring<br />

us in<strong>to</strong> the chosen place, also in the environs<br />

of <strong>Warsaw</strong>. If you require a taxi, <strong>it</strong> is the best<br />

<strong>to</strong> call and order one. Using your own car in<br />

<strong>Warsaw</strong> is – like driving around any big c<strong>it</strong>y –<br />

qu<strong>it</strong>e challenging, especially in the centre, which<br />

is not only very congested, but is also a paid<br />

parking zone.<br />

PUBLIC TRANSPORT<br />

<strong>Warsaw</strong>’s public transport system includes<br />

buses, trams and metro connections.<br />

Trams – one- or two-dig<strong>it</strong> numbering system<br />

Buses – three dig<strong>it</strong>s:<br />

1xx, 2xx, 3xx – regular lines, s<strong>to</strong>pping at all<br />

marked s<strong>to</strong>ps<br />

4xx, 5xx – accelerated lines (marked in red)<br />

E-x – express lines operating in peak hours<br />

on weekdays (marked in red)<br />

7xx – suburban lines<br />

8xx – suburban lines operating on weekdays<br />

Nxx – night buses operating between the<br />

hours of 11.15pm and 4.30am.<br />

The Metro – is the only line connecting Żoliborz<br />

(Młociny station) directly <strong>to</strong> the southern<br />

part of the c<strong>it</strong>y – Ursynów (Kabaty station).<br />

The metro runs daily from 5am until midnight<br />

(every 3-4 minutes during peak hours, every<br />

7-8 minutes at off-peak times). Add<strong>it</strong>ional service<br />

is provided on Fridays and Saturdays between<br />

00.15am and 2.30am (every 15 minutes).
