Its motivepower batteries are aimedto be supplied to a widevariety of electric poweredtransportation systems,including the railway market.The battery manufacturerhas commissioned anadditional manufacturingplant in January in Chitoor,India and is to open anotherbattery factory in the sameregion in December thisyear in order to increase itsexports.Amara is currentlysupplying lead‐acidbatteries to the industrialand automotive market.Amara’s focus has been onIndian Ocean rim countries,especially in the Africancontinent.
