We both attended PhotographySchool and after graduation we were assigned to the97th in Germany. For the next 2½ years we were roommates and best offriends, taking vacations and enjoying Böblingen sites. Whenwe both came home in July 1959, we continued to keep intouch with occasional visits to Canada—Bob lived in Michiganand I in New York State. For several years we both losttouch of each other, but through the 97th Association wewere reunited. A number of circumstances prevented Bobfrom attending any of the reunions. But in May 2008 Bob and his lovely wife Cathryne stayedwith us for three days, and we had a wonderful “mini”reunion. He was a special friend and I willalways have him in my heart.T &T Walt FortMay 20081958Page 15The Communicator
