The cover incorporates a woven rug, or lama, from theMapuche culture of southern Chile. According to thestrict Mapuche esthetic, certain designs are appropriatefor men, others for women or for different age groups.This lama would be used in the household by the entirefamily. Its designs represent the Earth, traditionalmedicinal plants, veins, hearts and human beings.
