<strong>Colorado</strong> <strong>Trip</strong> <strong>Packing</strong> <strong>List</strong>Travel DaysCasual clothes and money for two travel days and two days at base camp.Backpacking_____ 3 Zip-Loc bags (1 large for trip journal and notebook, 2 any size for miscellaneous use)_____ Any necessary medication (Please note this on your Release Form and your Health HistoryConsent Form, and bring only the amount you will need. There is no sharing medicines.)_____ Any snacks you can’t get along without (hard candy is a nice treat on your hike)_____ Athletic tape or moleskin for blisters_____ Bandanna (optional)_____ Baseball cap or visor_____ Bible (travel size if you want to bring on trail)_____ Camera and film (optional)_____ Camping Chair (optional). This should be lightweight and packable like a Crazy Creek.*_____ Cup and spoon (16-20 oz. is sufficient, insulated plastic mugs with lid and handle sold at gasstations, REI or Target work well)_____ Feminine hygiene supplies_____ Glasses or contacts (if needed)_____ Hand sanitizer (small bottle)_____ Headlamp or flashlight with fresh batteries_____ Hiking boots (tennis shoes will not work – make sure these are broken in prior to trip)_____ Insect repellent (make sure it contains DEET – 2 or 3 can share)_____ Insulating pad (closed cell foam like Ridgerest or Therma-rest)_____ Liner socks (2 pairs of thin polypro or polyester)_____ Lip balm with sunscreen_____ Long pants (2 pairs; 1 insulating like fleece, wool, and 1 protective for wind/rain likenylon/Gore-Tex)_____ Long sleeved shirt (preferably synthetic material like polyester or polypropylene)_____ Long underwear top and bottom (non-cotton)_____ Moleskin for blisters_____ Old tennis shoes or sandals (to put on after a day of hiking; they can also be used for yourrafting trip, as long as they have straps that will keep them secure. You cannot wear shoes likeCrocs on the river)_____ Raincoat – completely waterproof; small ponchos you buy at Wal-Mart are not adequate*_____ Shorts (1)_____ Sleeping bag (rated to at least 20 degrees, is a must)*_____ Small notebook and pen_____ Sunglasses with keeper strap_____ Sunscreen (waterproof, SPF 30 or higher, 2-4 can share)_____ T-Shirts (2; preferably non-cotton)_____ Toiletries, including towel (for showering at Noah’s Ark base camp – there is no soap,shampoo, perfume, cologne, deodorant, etc. allowed on the trail. 2-3 can share toothpaste.)_____ Underwear (2 pairs)_____ Water bottles (2 one-quart Nalgene bottles are best. Noah’s has bottles available for use orpurchase)_____ Wool or fleece/pile jacket or sweater_____ Wool socks (3 pairs; 2 for hiking, 1 for camp in backcountry at night)
