Summer 2013LANGUAGE COURSE@ <strong>St</strong> john’s beaumontSunday14th July -Saturday 3rdAugustLANGUAGE COURSE THAT OFFERS MUCH, MUCH MORE....For the third year running, <strong>St</strong> John’s <strong>Beaumont</strong>, renowned for its excellent teaching, opens its doors to studentsfrom around the world to join us for our co-educational Summer Language Camp, including; sport, science, music,art, British culture and historyWe have taken the strongest elements ofour educational program and built a first classSummer Language Camp for children agedbetween 7 and 12 years of age. Over a threeweek period, children will receive 3.5 hours ofEnglish language tuition per day beforeengaging in a wide variety of academic andartistic projects and trips in the a-ernoon.Pupils will make use of the School’swonderful facilities which include; 70 acres ofgrounds and woodlands, floodlit tennis courts,brand new sports centre, 30’ rock climbingwall, indoor swimming pool, playroom,science laboratory, art studio and musicschool. All accommodation will be providedwithin the school boarding environment.Being located less than 30 minutes fromcentral London, we are ideally placed to takeadvantage of the wonderful cultural andhistorical opportunities and this course isplanned to introduce children to many of themusical, theatrical and cultural highlights ofEngland.The 3 week language course has beendesigned specifically for the needs andabilities of children with a staff: pupil ratio of1:4 and staffed by full time members of staffat <strong>St</strong> John’s. It will deliver the same high levelof language education that enables many ofour pupils to gain entry into the finest schoolsin the country.All pupils will participate in a range ofextended projects that will include; a rocketworkshop, film making, graphic design andconstruction, cooking, mask and potterymaking and countless other exciting activities.There will be trips to historical London tovisit the most famous landmarks of the city,nearby Windsor Castle, Theme Parks (HarryPotter World, Chessington World ofAdventures, Theatre Shows, Mercedes BenzWorld, a Duck Tour on the River Thames andmuch more!The cost of the total course is £2,950. Theywill also have the opportunity to telephonehome if they wish toWhat is the schedule of each day?Each week day begins with breakfast andan explanation of the day’s timetable. A-erthis the pupils enter into their groups ofmorning English lessons which areinterspersed with break times. Each a-ernoonthe students will engage in a range ofactivities which require a more practical use ofthe English language. Activities will include;shopping, film-making, website design,science, music, art and construction andexcursions off-site. In the early evening,students will have free time to enjoy theschool’s many facilities, including theswimming pool, sports centre or playingfields.Each weekend, students will enjoy arange of excursions which have been chosenspecially to offer them an opportunity see thebreadth of English culture and history. Tripswill occur every Saturday and Sunday, buttime will also be set aside for boys and girls toenjoy some valuable free time with their newfriends.How will my son or daughter contact meduring the Language Camp?<strong>St</strong>udents will be able to make regularcontact with their parents if they wish viatelephone or through the school’s daily blogs.A regular ‘on-line’ blog will be updated bystudents on a daily basis explaining what theyhave done each day - English, to demonstratetheir progress to parents.What if my son or daughter is ill?All residential staff are able to deal withminor injuries and will medicate childrenfollowing parent advice. In the event ofmedical necessity our school doctor will be oncall to deal with emergencies throughout theduration of your child’s stay with us.Language tuitionis suited toelementary andintermediatepupils
