One of these seminars must formally present the student=s researchproposal and one would be for presentation of the results of the dissertation research as part of thefinal examination. The other seminar may be on a topic approved by the student=s GAC. Ph.D.students are required to register for VCS Seminar (VCS 7001), when offered, and a roll will be takenfor attendance. Students may also be asked to prepare and present articles in a journal club formatand will be graded on their skills and level of participation in such presentations.13
