PRESIDENT/EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S MESSAGEA year of changeHere are some of the key initiatives that<strong>Fife</strong> <strong>House</strong> has undertaken this pastyear to serve our clients effectively:• A strategic plan for <strong>Fife</strong> <strong>House</strong> was developedfor the next three years. It includes:a re-focussed mission, beliefs and philosophyof care; a commitment to growth and changebased on client identified needs; a focus oncommunity and service partnerships; anddeveloping the professional growth ofvolunteers, staff, and the Board.• New management staff and positions toensure <strong>Fife</strong> <strong>House</strong> will move with excellenceinto the future, including a new ExecutiveDirector, a Director of Development, aManager, Finance and Administration and aManager, Community Support Services.• A lived philosophy that ensures clients arepartners with us in their care and that theyhave a strong voice in the future of theorganisation. This has resulted in thedevelopment of a Direct Service Committeecomprised primarily of clients with activecommittee support from the President of theBoard, who is a member of the committee.• Development and revision of policies,procedures, standards and guidelines thatwill provide the foundation for excellence inproviding services.THIS PAST YE<strong>AR</strong> HAS BEEN A TIME OF CHANGE FOR FIFE HOUSE IN RESPONSETO THE EVOLVING NATURE OF HIV/AIDS. PEOPLE <strong>AR</strong>E LIVING LONGER AS A RESULTOF DRUG THERAPY AND <strong>AR</strong>E FACING LIFE WITH NEW CHALLENGES REQUIRINGGREATER ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT. PROVISION OF INNOVATIVE SERVICES ISCRUCIAL TO MEET THE EVER-CHANGING NEEDS OF OUR CLIENTS.• Development of a formal partnership withthe Centre of Addiction and Mental Health• Development of an outreach and social/recreation program for our residents/clients.in providing services to mutual clients. • A commitment to evaluation of all components• A clear fundraising and financial plan toensure a secure financial foundation thatwill allow us to fund additional projects toenhance the lives of our residents/clients.of <strong>Fife</strong> <strong>House</strong> – governance, standards,services and client satisfaction.
