Bridge of Carr, CarrbridgeBuilt in 1717, this packhorse bridge, from which thevillage was named, is one of the oldest in theHighlands. Situated 6 miles north of <strong>Aviemore</strong>, this is abeautiful place to visit.C<strong>ai</strong>rngorm Mount<strong>ai</strong>nsThe C<strong>ai</strong>rngorm Mount<strong>ai</strong>ns are host to such a varietyof activities all year round. Throughout the <strong>summer</strong>there are exciting mount<strong>ai</strong>n biking, hiking, walkingand climbing experiences at different levels for all thefamily. The C<strong>ai</strong>rngorm is the most accessiblemount<strong>ai</strong>n in the C<strong>ai</strong>rngorms and is world renownedas a hotspot for bird watchers along with other wildlifespotters. The famous Ski Centre is Brit<strong>ai</strong>ns largest skiarea with 28 runs and over 35k of pistes and is highlypopular in the <strong>summer</strong> and winter months. Located8 miles from <strong>Aviemore</strong> it is a great place to visit allyear round.C<strong>ai</strong>rngorm Mount<strong>ai</strong>nsFunicular R<strong>ai</strong>lwayWith fantastic panoramic views over the C<strong>ai</strong>rngormrange, the C<strong>ai</strong>rngorm Funicular is the country’s highestmount<strong>ai</strong>n r<strong>ai</strong>lway. The Ptarmigan Station at the top ishome to the mount<strong>ai</strong>n exhibition, where you can findout more about how nature and the elements haveshaped the landscape. There is also a restaurant anda shop for visitors.Funicular R<strong>ai</strong>lwayHighland Wildlife ParkHighland Wildlife Park is situated at Kincr<strong>ai</strong>g, 7 milessouth of <strong>Aviemore</strong>. It houses an amazing variety ofwildlife from wildcat and red deer to snow monkeysand polar bears. Open all year round with feedingtalks and landrover tours, the park provides a greatday out for all the family. Hop on service 32 withconnections to/from Inverness on the 32A and the34X.Landmark Forest Adventure ParkLandmark is located 7 miles north of <strong>Aviemore</strong> and isthe perfect family day out. With an array of things todo you will never get bored. With the latest ‘LostLabyrinth’ open, you can try to navigate your waythrough the maze. There’s the family rollercoaster ‘TheRunaway Timber Tr<strong>ai</strong>n’, or climb to the top of the FireTower and have panoramic views of the area or stopfor a bite to eat in the Pinewood Grill.Loch Morlich, Glenmore5 miles east of <strong>Aviemore</strong>, Loch Morlich is a large andpopular loch in the middle of Glenmore Forest Park.Host to an array of watersports, activities and cyclingroutes around the loch and with a beautiful beachand nearby campsite, this is the perfect place tospend a holiday.
