25 Years of Excellence ...Honoring the Past ...Building the Future...<strong>OSFMA</strong> Beginnings...In July 1986 twenty four facilities managers from around the state discussed the formation of a new organization, with the objective topromote and foster the highest degree of professionalism in the maintenance operation of school facilities. The founding members included:Bill Leach - Salem-Keizer SDDavid Church - North Clackamas SDJack Duff - Centennial SDMarvin George - Coos Bay SDBill Lawrence - Coos Bay SDJon Bagshaw - Winston-Dillard SDBarry Blake - North Bend SDDan Sheehan - Medford SDMike Nabor - Mollala SDRon DeWilde - Salem-Keizer SDHarlo Clifton - Jefferson SDRobert Love - Woodburn SDBill Heveron - Dayton SDJoe Johnson - Lincoln County SDJim Gillispie - Lebanon SDTom McMullen - Salem-Keizer SDDick Week - Salem-Keizer SDBill Ivie - Beaverton SDGlen Anderson - Puyallup SDJerry Hedin - Lake Oswego SDLarry King - Springfield SDHoward Mattoon - Springfield SDOliver Muise - Mill City SDDon Ayriss - Salem-Keizer SDThe first annual conference was held in 1987 at the Chumaree Comfortel in Salem. Nine workshops were presented, and RussellSadler, noted newspaper columnist, was the speaker at the banquet dinner. Ten vendors attended the first conference displayingservices and products. The first conference vendors included:Air Filter Sales and ServiceAmerican Janitorial SupplyCoastwide LaboratoriesHeavey EnginnersICL of <strong>Oregon</strong>Johnson WaxSiplastSpartan Chemical CompanyStagecraft IndustriesTremco, Inc.Over the years the annual conferences were held in Springfield, Eugene, and currently in Albany <strong>Oregon</strong>. The vendor trade showhas grown from 84 booths in 1991 to over 120 in 2010.
