The Material Safety Data Sheet Handbook: A Practical Guide to First Aid 

This handbook is designed to help employees prepare and evaluate first aid recommendations 

for chemical exposures, and minimize the effects of an accidental exposure to a chemical 

product. The recommendations in this CCOHS publication are up-to-date. 

The First Aid Measures section on a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) provides 

recommendations that describe measures that trained first aid providers can take 

at the scene of a chemical exposure, to minimize injury and disability, before obtaining

Dangerous Goods Placards 

Placards are displayed on vehicles and tanks to identify the risk of products 

being transported. Our entire placard line is manufactured to meet Transport 

Canada Guidelines. Placards are offered in the three different materials: 

Tagboard Placards are made from a semi-rigid paper card stock with a water resistant 

coating on both sides. This material is intended for single trip usage, at an economical 

price. Intended for use with placard holders. 

Plastic Placards are made with a long lasting plastic that will withstand many repeated 

uses in any weather. The printing is done using a silk screen process to ensure the print 

quality and resist fading. Intended for use with placard holders. 

Adhesive Vinyl Placards are intended for permanent application on the transport vehicle. 

They are constructed with an outdoor grade 4-MIL vinyl with an aggressive permanent 

adhesive backing. Once applied these placards provide a permanent TDG marking solution.

Electrical Safety Handbook

This Electrical Safety Handbook for Arc Flash and Shock is intended to be used 

in conjunction with a management system (e.g. see ANSI Z10 or CSA Z1000) 

based Electrical Safety Program that provides more detailed policies and 

practices for energized electrical work. This Handbook contains useful information 

with respect to the specification, care, use, maintenance, testing and pre-use inspection 

requirements of Electrical Specific PPE, Tools & Equipment that can be used to reduce 

exposure of risk to electrical shock and arc flash. The Handbook is intended to be used 

with the associated Inspection checklists for Electrical Specific PPE: Everyday Wear, and 

Arc Flash Suits. Tools & Equipment used must also be pre-use inspected by the user to

Electrical Specific PPE, Tools & Equipment should be inspected before every use, and 

when within an inventory management system they should be inspected at an acceptable
