customers and look forward to continuing to produce some of Canada’s best
WHMIS MSDS Handbook
Product Code 2155
The Material Safety Data Sheet Handbook: A Practical Guide to First Aid
This handbook is designed to help employees prepare and evaluate first aid recommendations
for chemical exposures, and minimize the effects of an accidental exposure to a chemical
product. The recommendations in this CCOHS publication are up-to-date.
The First Aid Measures section on a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) provides
recommendations that describe measures that trained first aid providers can take
at the scene of a chemical exposure, to minimize injury and disability, before obtaining
medical assistance.
This MSDS Handbook presents a system for preparing and/or evaluating first aid
recommendations for chemical exposures in the workplace. The 38-page publication
identifies key questions on the health, fire and reactivity hazards of a chemical product
and provides the user with a decision tree (flowchart approach) for arriving at accurate,
consistent first aid recommendations for each route of occupational exposure (skin,
eye, inhalation and ingestion).
This tool is intended for people who have a basic understanding of chemicals
and their hazards and who write or evaluate first aid recommendations for
Material Safety Data Sheets.
Dangerous Goods Placards
Placards are displayed on vehicles and tanks to identify the risk of products
being transported. Our entire placard line is manufactured to meet Transport
Canada Guidelines. Placards are offered in the three different materials:
Tagboard Placards are made from a semi-rigid paper card stock with a water resistant
coating on both sides. This material is intended for single trip usage, at an economical
price. Intended for use with placard holders.
Plastic Placards are made with a long lasting plastic that will withstand many repeated
uses in any weather. The printing is done using a silk screen process to ensure the print
quality and resist fading. Intended for use with placard holders.
Adhesive Vinyl Placards are intended for permanent application on the transport vehicle.
They are constructed with an outdoor grade 4-MIL vinyl with an aggressive permanent
adhesive backing. Once applied these placards provide a permanent TDG marking solution.
TDG Shipping Labels 4" x 4" (100mm x 100mm)
Shipping labels are essential for packages that contain dangerous goods. Labels are available
in two materials, paper for indoor applications and vinyl for extended outdoor usage. All
Shipping Labels are manufactured to Transport Canada specifications with fade resistant inks.
Aluminum Placard Holders
Aluminum Placard holders have 10 pre-drilled mounting holes for ease of installation and a
stainless steel clip ensures longevity even in worst conditions. Holder has a formed ramp at
the clip to guide placards easily over the clip during removal. Back plate has several raised
bumps that keep plastic placards from becoming stuck in the holder during winter weather.
Pre-Numbered UN Placards
We also stock a select number of pre-printed UN numbered placards for your specific
transportation compliance needs. Please contact the office for available stock.

Electrical Safety Handbook
for Arc Flash & Shock
Product Code 9295
NEW!
This Electrical Safety Handbook for Arc Flash and Shock is intended to be used
in conjunction with a management system (e.g. see ANSI Z10 or CSA Z1000)
based Electrical Safety Program that provides more detailed policies and
practices for energized electrical work. This Handbook contains useful information
with respect to the specification, care, use, maintenance, testing and pre-use inspection
requirements of Electrical Specific PPE, Tools & Equipment that can be used to reduce
exposure of risk to electrical shock and arc flash. The Handbook is intended to be used
with the associated Inspection checklists for Electrical Specific PPE: Everyday Wear, and
Arc Flash Suits. Tools & Equipment used must also be pre-use inspected by the user to
ensure they are suitable for use.
Electrical Specific PPE, Tools & Equipment should be inspected before every use, and
when within an inventory management system they should be inspected at an acceptable
frequency to ensure that when the PPE, Tools & Equipment are required they are available
and fit for use. When an inventory inspection is performed the storage location, the use
of separate storage bags, and tagging of lockers, storage bags, PPE, Tools & Equipment
referenced in procedures and in PMs should be checked as well as ensuring where
applicable that the PPE, Tool or piece of Equipment has been third party tested within
acceptable frequencies. Where Electrical Specific PPE, Tools & Equipment are shared a
Check In and Check Out system should be established and audited to ensure that it is
being followed.
For guidance on selecting suitable arc flash protective clothing and shock PPE, Tools &
Equipment please refer to CSA Z462 Workplace electrical safety Standard or NFPA 70E
Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.
It is noted that this Handbook doesn’t preclude the need for formal training (e.g.
classroom, online, on the job) on the specification, care, use and maintenance of Electrical
Specific PPE, Tools & Equipment. Additionally the Supervisor of the worker using the PPE,
Tools & Equipment should complete Supervisory level inspections/audits to ensure that
workers are competent in the care, use and maintenance requirements.
The user of this Handbook should refer to the most recent versions of CSA Z462 and/
or NFPA 70E and should confirm Clause, Article and Table numbers referenced in this
Handbook based on the current edition of the referenced Standard.
This Electrical Safety Handbook for Arc Flash and Shock contains the following
information:
• Useful definitions related to arc flash and shock and associated electrical equipment.
• Related figures and images including arc flash and shock hazards, boundaries, effects,
flowcharts and example warning labels.
Product Code 9265 – Available on DVD for $395
Driver Distraction – 3:22 min.
Product Code 9270
Driver distraction is a huge cause of collisions. It doesn’t matter if you are talking on your cell
phone, texting, eating or daydreaming..., a distracted driver is a dangerous driver. Reduce
collisions by concentrating on the task at hand.
It was an Accident... Just One of Those Things – 3:44 min.
Product Code 9271
When was the last time you had a true ’accident’? Looking back, do you think your ’accident’
could have been prevented? Those events we call ’accidents’ aren’t true accidents... they could
have been prevented.
Protect Your Head... You May Need It – 4:15 min.
Product Code 9272
Head injuries are the leading cause of death due to trauma. It doesn’t matter if you are
exploring a cave, riding an ATV or if you are at work, wearing the proper head protection
reduces head injuries and death. There is proper head protection for every activity... wear it!
Don’t Slip When Getting In or Out of a Vehicle – 3:20 min.
Product Code 9273
It may seem innocent enough, but getting in and out of your vehicle in icy conditions puts
you in a very vulnerable position. Injuries can range from a mild strained back to death...
realize the hazards as you get in and out of your vehicle.
Statistics are People – 2:55 min.
Product Code 9274
The death of one man is a tragedy. The death of a million is a statistic. – Joseph Stalin
When we look at statistics, we don’t think about the people behind the numbers. It’s important
to remember that each number was a mother, father, husband, wife, child, friend or co-worker.
Always Think of the Repercussions of Your Actions – 1:30 min.
Product Code 9275
This is the best tip I can give... whatever task you plan on doing, take a few seconds to think
about the repercussions of your actions. Take that second to think about what will happen in
the event something goes wrong. Take a second to think who else will be affected if something
goes wrong and you are hurt..., or worse.
Product Code 9277
A back injury can reduce your quality of life for years to come. Don’t let something as simple
as a heavy couch, piece of wood or a heavy valve at the workplace reduce your quality of life.
You are never too young or too old to start looking after your back. Take care of your back
now so you can have a healthy retirement with a high quality of life.
You Don’t Have to Fall From a Great Height to be Hurt – 2:40 min.
Product Code 9278
If you fall from the 45th floor on a construction site, that will make the six o’clock news because
it was a spectacular fall. If you tripped over a curb and hit your head and died three days later, it
won’t make the news because it wasn’t a spectacular enough fall. Even a same level fall can destroy
lives. One of the best tips you can give anyone is to learn how to prevent slips, trips and falls.
Horoscopes and Safety – 1:50 min.
Product Code 9279
My horoscope said it was going to be an “accident prone” day for me. It said I should be careful
because dangers can appear right out of the blue. Do you really believe your safety depends
on how the stars line up? It’s not the stars that keep you safe... it’s you and your co-workers.
Driving and Sleeping Don’t Mix – 3:35 min.
Product Code 9280
Have you ever fallen asleep while behind the wheel? What can be more dangerous than going
down the highway when you are driving and sleeping? This clip explains the repercussions of
nodding off while behind the wheel and how we can prevent it.
It’s the Simple Things That Can Hurt Us – 2:00 min.
Product Code 9281
Something as simple as a faulty seatbelt caused a pilot to fall out of his seat while he was upside
down doing a stunt. It seems so simple… yet a faulty seatbelt caused a jet to crash. This clip
points out that when it comes to safety, there are no simple things... everything is important.
A Crocodile is Like a Machine – 1:30 min.
Product Code 9282
A crocodile ripped a man’s arm off while he was trying to help it. A machine ripped a man’s arm off
when he was trying to fix it. Crocs do what they do and they don’t care who they hurt. Machines are
the same. This clip points out that respect and caution is needed around both crocs and machines.
Safety Moments Volume III
Product Code 9267 – Available on DVD for $395
Animals on the Road – 4:03 min.
Product Code 9283
Hitting a large animal with your vehicle at highway speed is no joke. People die or are maimed
every year when they collide with animals on the road. This clip will remind you of the damage
that animals can do when they are hit and how to help prevent a collision with an animal.
Arrogance and Safety Don’t Mix – 3:28 min.
Product Code 9284
We all know someone who comes across in an arrogant way when it comes to safety. It may
be the new hire who thinks they know it all or it may be the mature worker who says “I’ve
been doing it this way for 25 years and I don’t need to follow the new safety rules.” When
it comes to safety, arrogant attitudes get people hurt or killed.
Tragedies Make Us Safer – 3:15 min.
Product Code 9285
Unfortunately, it often takes the deaths of others to make us safer. In this tragedy, over 300
people died, most of which were children. Shortly after this incident, the law was changed so
an odour was added to natural gas to prevent horrible events like this one from happening again.
Use Caution in Tight Spots – 1:53 min.
Product Code 9286
It doesn’t matter if you are exploring a cave, working in a confined space on your worksite,
or fixing your septic tank on the acreage. Extra caution must be used whenever you are in
tight spots… because rescuing you could be very difficult and dangerous.
Pay Attention to Warning Signs – 1:52 min.
Product Code 9287
It doesn’t matter if you are carrying bear spray on a hike or using bleach at home or at work,
warning labels and safety instructions have valuable information. Take the time to read and
understand them.
A Man Killed Two Young Girls – 2:35 min.
Product Code 9288
A man killed two young girls. He didn’t mean to, but he did just the same. His careless actions
and disregard for other people’s safety stole the lives of the girls and robbed their parents of
their precious daughters. You have a huge responsibility whenever you get behind the wheel.
