Halfway through the live auction, after auction package #15, allparticipants will stand. To get started, hold it in your hand and you willchoose – to hold your rag up or keep it down at your side. The auctioneerwill flip a coin – heads is rags up and tails is down.If you chose correctly you remain standing and continue to play; whenyou’re wrong, you sit down. The game will continue until we have oneparticipant left standing. The addition of storage space, offices, family restrooms and more exhibitspace are a few of the changes you will notice. Other capital improvementsinclude repairing Pioneer Hall’s dome and the construction of new restroomsin the north parking lot.Since its inception in 1993, the <strong>Blue</strong> <strong>Ribbon</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> has been raisingfunds to renovate and restore the historic <strong>Iowa</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>Fair</strong>grounds. Morethan $95 million has been generated to date and has supported projectsincluding improvements to the Varied Industries Building and the Grandstand,as well as the Campgrounds and Ye Old Mill. In addition, funds supportthe building of new facilities such as the Animal Learning Center and theJacobson Exhibition Center.The <strong>Blue</strong> <strong>Ribbon</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong>’s annual Corndog Kickoff <strong>Benefit</strong> <strong>Auction</strong> and <strong>Fair</strong>Food Grazing Party has aided in raising funds for these projects.
