Its construction was financedby Bama and the Dale Foundation and was actively supported by Fenacle, thenational agricultural union.The sports complex is located just a few meters away from the Ecuador PaísAmazónico school, the fist major venture built in 2008 by the Dale Foundationand its Norwegian partner.Inauguration of the new sports complex in the presence of AngelRivero, President of Fenacle, Hector Cacao, Rio Viejo communityleader, Magne Svartbekk, head of Corporate Responsibilityat Bama Gruppen, Peter Gilmore, Chairman of Dale Foundation& Maria Eugenia Castro, Executive Director of Dale Foundation.DOLE ECUADOR: CELEBRATION OF THE 10THANNIVERSARY OF THE VICENTE PIEDRAHITASCHOOLOn August 24, Dale Foundation celebrated the 10th anniversary of the inauguration of theVicente Piedrahita school.A group of children flanked by community, school staffand <strong>Dole</strong> representatives.With a total investment of US$ 325,000 the school opened in 2002 and subsequentlyexpanded since 2009 to add three more grades, thereby adhering to a government policy.The school features 10 well-ventilated classrooms, a room for teachers, acomputer room, a school playground, a multi-purpose field, a fully-equippedkitchen and dining room and 24-hours security staff.The lively anniversary ceremony was attended by approximately 200community residents, as well as Mike Cavallero and Keith Mitchell, respectivelyPresident and CFO of <strong>Dole</strong> Fresh Fruit North America.4
