This wasthe largest National Convention ever held withwell over 2,500 in attendance. In 2<strong>01</strong>3 it will be<strong>CUPE</strong> National 50 th anniversary.The week was full of debates, discussions anddecision making that guides our unions’ directionfor the next 2 years. Paul Moist was re-elected asPresident. Hours of time were spent going overresolutions, committee reports, and policies that werevoted on for the good of <strong>CUPE</strong> as a whole.It was a unanimous vote to launch a nation widecampaign for fair taxes at the Federal, Provincial andlocal government levels.Many locals are facing down sizing, cuts andprivatizing.This is something that has become province wide allover Canada and it’s time for us to fight back. It is inour back yard and could affect all our futures.
