Wissner-bosserhoff GmbH, founded in
1952 and based in Wickede on the Ruhr
River, is a mid-sized company with long
tradition. With development, production
and worldwide distribution, the
furniture manufacturer specializes in
the nursing home and hospital fields.
In the 2006/2007 fiscal year, with
around 100 staff, the company achieved
a turnover of EUR 37.6 million.
The wissner-bosserhoff group has an export
share of approx. 50%. Last year, with
subsidiary Linet spol. s.r.o. located in Slany,
near Prague, the company produced
46,000 beds and around 30,000 bedside
cabinets for the in-patient geriatric care
and hospital areas, which corresponds to
combined consolidated sales of around
EUR 85 million. Additional sales locations
have been set up in Belgium and
the Netherlands. Branches in France and
Spain will follow in 2007. The maxim „Furniture

nursing and hospital beds, bedside cabinets
and accessories, mattresses, corpus

plains the success of recent years by pointing
to the acquisition of market share
both nationally and internationally in the
mid-level and premium areas of nursing
home care, where the „contempora“ range
of beds has made a major contribution.
To strengthen their position tangibly
in the lower market segments as well,
the „estetica“ and „vitalia“ product families
have been completely overhauled
and equipped with new options aligned
to individual equipment requirements.
The company also hopes for success with
the new „sentida“ lie-low bed, introduced
for the first time at the Altenpflege +
ProPflege trade fair in March 2007. Since
opening on 1 September 2006, the new
exhibition forum has proven its worth in
reinforcing Wickede as the company‘s
main site, attracting national and international
customers in large numbers. In the
main location for the production of retirement
and nursing home facilities in Wickede,
the company is planning to increase
the number of employees to around
120 for the 2007/08 fiscal year, focusing
on strengthening the marketing, strategic
purchasing, quality assurance and
quality management areas in particular.
Production is expected to take on five
new employees which, with corresponding
investment, will raise its capacity
to a production volume of around 16,000
beds for nursing homes in 2007/2008.

is fed to subsequent operations, the demand
moves in the opposite direction.
The subsequent operation only takes the
part it needs from the preceding operation,
in the right quantity and at the right
moment (just-in-time principle). The prerequisite
for this is simplification of the
ERP-supported communication through
the clear marking of what is required and
