The financial year 2006-07 has ended on a positive note, financially and operationally. Strong
demand from steel industry worldwide has been an important factor for the encouraging
results. However, optimum use of key resources like chrome ore and electricity has been our
objective, to keep costs under control. We need to achieve longterm viability, as market prices
and demand do and will fluctuate. Further integration to coal mining and expansion of electricity
generation is now pursued expeditiously for adequate fundamental strength.
Dear Colleagues,
Milestone event in November 2009 was placement of final orders for 120 MW power plant expansion, at Choudwar.
The project is now under way. With extensive preparatory work on technical and commercial aspects, we are
confident of moving forward as per schedule. The additional generation capacity shall add to our integration
strengths and shall provide opportunity for new business plans.
Ferro chrome industry was anxiously waiting and hoping for market revival. Our market has improved somewhat,
but not enough to meet the cost pressures and the financial needs of the industry. We are hoping for growth in
stainless steel production, leading to better demand for ferro chrome in 2010, for fundamental improvement in the
market.
The 16th Ekalabya Award function for sports was held recently. This unique distinction is motivating many a sports
MOU SIGNED
IMFA singed a MOU with Thermax on 05.11.2009 in presence
of all top executives from both the companies for 120 MW
power plant at Choudwar.
Don't listen to those who say, you are taking too big a chance.
Michelangelo would have painted the Sistine floor, and it would
surely be rubbed out by today. Most important, don't listen
when the little voice of fear inside you rears its ugly head and
says. they all smarter than you out there. They're more talented,
they're taller, blonder, prettier, luckier, and they have
connections. Have the self belief that if you follow a path that
interests you, not to the exclusion of love, sensitivity and
cooperation with others, but with the strength of conviction that
you can move others by your own efforts and do not make
success or failure the criteria by which you live, the chances
are you'll be a person worthy of your own respects.
The Pilot Story
The photographer for a national magazine was assigned to get
photos of a great forest fire. Smoke at the scene was too
thick to get any good shots, so he frantically called his home
office to hire a plane.
'It will be waiting for you at the airport!' he was assured by his
editor. As soon as he got to the small, rural airport, sure
enough, a plane was warming up near the runway. He jumped
in with his equipment and yelled, 'Let's go! Let's go!' The pilot
swung the plane into the wind and soon they were in the air.
'Fly over the north side of the fire,' said the photographer,
'and make three or four low level passes.'
'Why?' asked the pilot.
'Because I'm going to take pictures! I'm a photographer, and
photographers take pictures!' said the photographer with
great exasperation.
After a long pause the pilot said, 'You mean you're not my
flying instructor.'
When you have a dream, your on a roll,
Because your working towards a goal.
When you have a dream, you are Rich,
Without a dream, people perish.
Onto your dream, forever hold,
And you'll walk on a carpet of gold.
Nothing comes from doing nothing,
We are never more happy
Than when we are doing something.
What you can dream, you can do,
There is always more in you.
He who dares wins, he who dares nothing,
Need not hope for anything.
Ideas are worthless without action,
Don't procrastinate be a man of action.
Whatever you want to do begin it now,
Action has a magic power .
What's the motto of a millionaire,
He who has begun is halfway there.
There's something special here for you ,
At Gotsit dreams, Really do come true.
My advice to you is get married: if you find a
good wife you'll be happy; if not, you'll
become a philosopher. ----------- Socrates

Teacher's Magnetism
Mrs Mollard had been giving her second-grade students a
lesson in science.
She had explained about magnets and showed how they
would pick up nails and other bits of iron. Now it was
question time, and Mrs Mollard asked, 'My name begins
with the letter "M" and I pick up things. What am I?'
Tim, a little boy in the front row proudly said, 'You're a
mother!'
Crocodiles
Telephone rings in a house. A man picks up the phone. The
agitated voice on the other end began to shout something
about a terrible accident.
- Wait a moment, slow down, please, - the man said, - I can't
get a thing what you are talking about.
The person on the other end of the line calmed a little and
began again. Finally the man got it that it is the director of the
local zoo who is calling him and with certain apprehension it
dawned on him that his wife and mother-in-law were
supposed to visit the zoo this same morning.
- So, what have happened? - the man asked.
- But I am telling you the last ten minutes already! - the zoo
director yelled in frustration, - It was the terrible accident!
Your mother-in-law fell into the crocodile pool!
- Oh, yeah?! - now the man yelled back, - They are your
crocodiles! So YOU save them!

We take immense pride in the successful endeavor of Mr. Samir Kumar Mishra the 1 st recipient of Prof
Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship for Higher Education. His words of gratitude is appended below.
Perhaps the most valuable result of all education
is the ability to make yourself do the thing you
have to do, when it ought to be done, whether
you like it or not; it is the first lesson that ought to
be learned; and however early a man's training
begins, it is probably the last lesson that he learns
thoroughly.
A grin spreads to the eyes,
A chuckle comes from the belly;
But a good laugh bursts forth from the soul,
Overflows, and bubbles all around”
