Contour Track is permanently locked into place by
securing it to the primary supporting structure using
the pre-punched holes conveniently placed throughout
the web.
Expandable Ribbon
Technology
Contour Track flexible framing products feature
expandable ribbon technology that expands and contours to
your desired curve, bend or radius. The ribbon technology
offers curveable flexibility, while maintaining or holding its
shape during installation. Many comparable flexible tracks
on the market are very flimsy, easily distort or flop around
and are often very difficult for one person to install.

Hinged Support Leg
Contour Track
The other leg of the Dietrich Contour Track features
pre-punched, easy-to-cut guide holes when contour track is
used in arches or extreme radius conditions like column
framing. In these conditions, the ribbons are quickly removed
with snips and the trim holes are partially cut to provide
maximum flexibility and versatility. Unlike competitive
products that require multiple products for different type of
curved applications, Dietrich Contour Track does it all!
Interlocking Track
Contour Track flexible framing members bend both ways and
easily form challenging compound curves. S-curves are easily
made by overlapping and interlocking one two-inch web
section. Screw attach, then hand bend to the desired effect.
UltraSTEEL Technology
Dietrich Contour Track features Dietrich UltraSTEEL framing
technology. Unlike the smooth surface of other flexible
track products, which tend to inhibit the “grabbing” of screws
during installation, the “dimpled” surface of the CNTB actually
helps to facilitate screw installation. The “dimpled” surface also
makes the product much safer to handle.
Dietrich UltraSTEEL Framing is an internationally patented
method of altering the characteristics of the base strip steel.
This process effectively work hardens the steel with two mating
rolls. As a result, Dietrich UltraSTEEL offers:
■ Greatly reduced screw stripping
■ Virtually eliminates screw riding or walking
■ Stiffer, more rigid construction
■ Improved safety by reducing sharp edges
and lips

Protective Coating
Non-structural products have a protective corrosion
resistant galvanized coating conforming to
ASTM Specification A 1003 – G 40 minimum
coating weight or have a protective coating with
an equivalent corrosion resistance. This coating
weight is in accordance with the industry standard
requirements of ASTM C 645.
Yield Strength, F y /(psi or ksi)
Yield strength is the property by which the
strength of steel is typically defined. Dietrich
Contour Track is manufactured with steel
having a yield point of 33 ksi for all gauges. Ksi
is short for kips per square inch. One kip is equal
to 1,000 pounds.
Standards & Specifications
All members comply with ASTM standards and
Federal specifications as shown in our Certification of
Material. All structural properties are developed in
accordance with the American Iron and Steel
Institute’s “Specification for the Design of Cold
Formed Steel Structural Members.”
Metric Specifications
At your request, Dietrich Metal Framing will provide
“soft” metric conversions on its products and systems
to help specifiers match metric design sizes. In
addition, some products are available with hard metric
dimensions from selected manufacturing facilities.
The data contained in this brochure is intended
