concluded his Lila in this world. "Due to the blazing up of a variety ofsentiments consequent on the separation from the Divine Beloved, SriMadhavendra Puri expresses his emotions in his direct appealing addressto Sri Krishna as 'Ayi', which is an affectionate and appealing term ofaddress. Pray bless me with Your Sight. You are the Embodiment of infinitesweetness, infinite kindness, and limitless munificence (Madhurya,Karunya, and Audarya). Whereas, I am lacking in adequate power(Anurupa Abhiruchi) to relish Your sweetness and an adequate craving toplunge myself therein. Out of extreme kindness, You bestow Yoursweetness on all who show the least 'Sevonmukhata', irrespective of theirfitness to receive your Kindness or not; You drown all those aspirants whoshow the least 'Sevonmukhata', i.e., a craving for better service whilebeing in service (Sevayam sevayai unmukhata). You are the Protector ofall. So, why not protect me? On many occasions in the past, You haveprotected me. Why not kindly do so again? Or is it that You are aTormentor? For You did not hesitate even to kill a woman! You killedPutana without taking her sex into consideration. You are now the Lord ofMathuravasis and have been attracted by townswomen; and that is whyYou show Your aversion to Vrajavasis, who are rustics like me! You are theLord of Madhurya Rasa; so why not give me a taste of It too? When willYou ever be seen by me? When shall I have the good fortune to have YourSight? My heart is distressed without You! O Merciful Lord! My heart isextremely restless for want of a sight of You. I cannot bear the separationfrom You any longer. My heart becomes unsteady and enters into a stupor.Your separation stupefies me. What shall I do? Where shall I go? To whombut You alone shall I resort? What am I doing here? So saying and inextreme agony of heart and anguish, Sri Madhavendra Puri breathed hislast." It is with such extreme feeling of separation and anguish ofheart that the Lord must be directly called by His Name 'Krishna'by Which He is as good as purchased and is compelled to give HisDarsan to His ardent devotee. 558.1'Krishna' Nama makes Krishna subservient"Any one of the Names pertaining to the Descent of Sri Krishna willgrant all the advantages that one obtains by the thrice repetition of theauspicious thousand Names (Sri Vishnu-Sahasra-Nama)." 559 "Arjun, with aneye on the Pasupatastra, having muttered 'Krishna' Nama to the fullestextent, not only got it, but became as dear to Him as His very Soul, Whomhe got as his Divine Charioteer." 560 "Why praise more? By merely utteringany Name pertaining to 'Krishnavatar' or Krishna's Descent constantly, one559 sahasra-nāmnāṁ puṇyānāṁ trir-āvṛttyā tu yat phalamekāvṛttyā tu kṛṣṇasya nāmaikaṁ tat prayacchati(śrī hari-bhakti-vilāsa 2.11.488)288
