COUNTRY RETREAT. . . peaceful & private . . .holiday accommodation • byron hinterlandwww.nuwarra.com7 Park Street 66 851 307Lingerie• Fashion• Jewelleryeditor’s noteWhether you are spiritually aligned or skeptically inclined, the fact remains that major changes are happening—shifts inthe nature of our environment, in the structure of our society,in governing bodies and family units… and then there arethose personal shifts that so many are experiencing. It seemsthat not a day goes by without some sort of reference orquestioning about the much prophesised 2012.So this is the last edition for 2010, and as we come closer to2011 (the eve of 2012) more and more people are wonderingwhat’s in store. Over the last two years a lot of informationrelating to cosmic matters has been sent to InJoy. Some hasbeen published but a lot has not. The emergence of InJoyhas needed to stay close to the centre, sometimes reaching‘out there’ beyond what we can rationalise, but mostly thecontent has focused on our community and ways to inspirereaders. But this edition is different in that a lot of the materialrevolves around the cosmic shifts that are happening. Thereare workshops facilitated by renowned people comingto Australia to assist in energy clearings and alignmentissues, there are articles and snippets relating to new andharmonious ways of relating, and even the astrological ravefocuses on ‘the mating instinct’. It wasn’t planned this way, itjust happened… as it is with every issue of InJoy Magazine.I went to the Byron Bay Writers Festival this year specificallyto attend a session about literary magazines and I wassurprised that all the speakers expressed the fact that ahuge percentage of their content is solicited… they onlyaccept a very small amount of unsolicited submissions. Thisis where InJoy is quite unique as most of material publishedthrough InJoy Magazine is unsolicited… people want tosubmit something, they have a passion to share their voiceand I say yes, yes submit. It does make my job as editor quitechallenging at times yet the unknown factor brings greatmystery to the structuring process of every edition, butthat’s what working InJoy is all about, not always knowingand trusting that what is meant to be will be.InJoy may seem like a magazine but in actuality it is anenergy body… and even after two years of circulation peopleconsistently take the time to tell me with great enthusiasmhow much they LOVE it.The other remarkable aspect of InJoy Magazine is that peopleof all ages contribute. In the last edition there was a boldpiece of writing from a 15-year-old girl, which received greatfeedback,… and in this issue there is another outstandingresponse from an eleven-year-old girl called Growing Up TooFast. We have incredibly creative beings all over our regionand that includes the younger sector of our community. Theyouth of today are amazing and articulate and when thelabel of ‘troublemakers’ is attached to their generation theexplanation is always the same… it’s a result of boredom asthere is nowhere for them to go after dark, and the lack oftransport to the regional areas of our shire is a big problem.I cannot mention the loss of so many of our young oneslately without getting yet another tear in my eye… yep herethey are again, tears falling down my face and goose bumpsexploding over my body as I type this. I reckon their spirits arearound and pushing us big people to actually do somethingto alleviate this pressure on our youth. The time has come…and it is now!For parents of 13-17 year olds and all InJoy’s young readers(which I hear is many) please check out the communityinitiative on page 19—OUR SPACE—it’s going to be great andcould inspire other venues to open their doors to our mostvaluable resource; our youth, tomorrow’s adults… the futureis in our hands and it’s all about what we can do togetherto ensure not only our survival but to make sure there is aquality of life for us all and our future generations too.So take some time out of your busyschedule to ‘injoy’ the many differentthreads that weave the fabric of thisauspicious edition.much love & many blessings,Bhadrenainjoy 2

This 1903 photograph is one of an amazing series of images that show the secret kingdom of Tibet, and for the very first time someof these sacred photographs are to be auctioned...An incredible set of pictures taken during the controversial 1903 British Mission to Tibet has come to light - recognisedas the first ever photos to come out of the mysterious and sacred country. The rare snaps were taken by an officerduring the campaign - and this was recorded as the first time the British were given access to the country. The series of images depict the haunting beauty of the secluded country and brought scenes of Tibetan landscapes, including Mount Everest, to the west for the first time. The 72 stunning pictures show local people and their way of life back in the early 1900’s, buildings from that era... andeven a group of nuns gathered to smile for the camera. Indigenous Mattersat the heart of culture • • • •INTERVIEW WITH A YACHAKby Kuatarina Mountsecrets. Study was too easy because my mindgrew with the knowledge that life is only a unity. Allthe consciousness, wisdom, knowledge, the worldof life grew, and the mind is clear. All goes to life -only life. Amoeba to man is only one life and oneconsciousness.K: Do indigenous people have special beliefs?H: It is their consciousness. The people of the newera need very little knowledge and understand allintegrity. This wisdom is for all the world, humanity, because they don’t lose contact with reality. TheIndians know Cosmic Knowledge. They stay in thisknowledge of connection to earth and cosmos.K: From where did they get this knowledge?H: From Special People, perhaps 100,000 yearsago, who came to the west and taught a newway of life. The Natural Forces are controlled byspecial people.Kuatarina: When did you first realise you had thegift?Huillka: I was born with the Gift. My life is differentbecause I lived in another time. When I was a babythere was a fire at home. I was the only one in thehouse and my mother saved me. She sufferedterribly. She and I spent 3 years in the hospital. Ilearned different forms of suffering. I saw the doctorstrying to find diagnoses and contact. In the mysterious world I could see this as a baby. Ilearned the doctor’s diagnosis, but for me I also haddirect knowledge and found a great, mysterious, awkward world. As a little child I tried to see theawkward world, and I got it. All my life I have seeninto the reality and I see all the body, the sickness, the problems in life - all the life.K: Where did you grow up?H: In Quito. Between the ages of 30 and 40, Itravelled all around the world and all the Andes.K: What was your childhood like?H: Normal, but I was in another world. At universityI studied all the sciences. All knew I was “special”and came to me with their problems, and I taughtabout life.K: Are your parents or other family membersgifted?H: No.K: Are you from an indigenous group?H: At 16, I started to learn from my Master, Guru,Shaman, Yachak. Master told me about Indiansand when I was 38 I went to the Andean Indians, took a woman, had a child, and lived with them.I learned the mysterious life. I learned the YACHAKway, Quechua. The life has all the secrets whenyou live with indigenous people, you learn all theK: Do you have ceremonies?H: Yes. My life is a cosmic path, but all livesare cosmic. The only difference is I have theconsciousness. Some others are unconscious, butall live with the Cosmic Plan of God.K: Do you take special medicine, i.e. Ayahuascaor San Pedro?H: When the mind is hard, sometimes it needssome drugs to open up. I don’t need them.K: Can you tell me your views on 2012?H: In the Universe, there are many forces. In thecosmic world, many forces. They appear in cycles. 2012 is one of them. The Spiritual force in the subconscious commands(directs) us to live the Spiritual Way and thebeginning is to see the total reality. When yousee the total reality you know what to do. Whenyou see the fantastic show of marketing, business, commercialism, etc., you see a great show of thefinish of the world.Death. The show is the Death. Death with aSunrise (he smiles). You don’t need to pray becauseall the Gods are inside of the human mind. Whenyou don’t think anything the Gods disappear. When you begin to think all the Gods appear.GOD IS A FRIENDLY PROGRAMME.When I had lunch with Huillka the Yachak andasked if he is a vegetarian, he said he is butdoesn’t care if other people are not, he loves themanyway. He also said, “What if an insect bites youand takes some of your blood. Do you kill it andkill your own blood?Lots of love, light and laughter, as always,Kuatarina xxx5injoy

A YACHAK is a higher form ofShaman. YACHAK means the Originof Wisdom, created in Knowledge, speaks the new Knowledge; sees, has the Vision.Kuatarina Mount lunches withHUILLKA the YACHAKHuillka is the founder and guru at PAKARI TAMBO. Huillka ispronounced Wilka and means “Sacred”. PAKARI TAMBO,in Otavalo, Ecuador, is a place for learning about theWisdom of American Andes, your cosmic vision, healthwisdom, cosmic message and the beginning of the newhuman. It teaches how to tell the Truth and see the GreatReality. Here there are conferences and classes about theIndian American Wisdom, the cosmic way to the GreatSpirit. The Sacred Knowledge is taught at PAKARI TAMBO.http://www.pakaritambo.org[google this and them select translate]Indigenous MattersHUILLKA´S TEACHINGS ON REALITY• The life is manifestation of consciousness.God is the consciousness. Consciousnesssustains the Universe. This energy is thesustenance of the Universe.• Your body has no form. The Spirit has form. When Spirit goes away, the body is a littlepiece of dust, without form, without life. Ourform, e.g., face, etc., is Spirit, is structure.• The Spirit is a force with Universal Order.• This Power of Order is named consciousness.Spirit is Wisdom and force of action.• In Quechac, the name of God is PACHAKAMAK. Kamak is Wisdom and Force.• Wisdom looks at something, but Kamakmakes that something.• All human creation is himself. All thingshave a message - an awkward message.• All the material things have Kamak. TheSpiritual Wisdom with force makes structuresin the Universe. All material things have apiece of Wisdom.• The life is difficult for survival, but ouraction makes God’s plans because we areGod’s instruments. We all need our lives butour Spirit has Spiritual Knowledge. We makeour own reality, but that is only part of it.• We don’t like to see the true reality, only afalse reality of a bigger picture, e.g., a pieceof plastic is a part of petroleum.• When we see an object, e.g., sunglasses,we only see sunglasses and don’t want tosee the whole reality, such as the factorywhere they are made, the petroleum they’remade from, the wars, lies, commercialism, publicity, etc., that all go into them.• All the world is in the sunglasses. A totalcosmos. YACHAK can see all. Because wecan see reality and don’t like it we live life asa show. As a YACHAK can see all, he enjoysthe show, as it is a show for him.• Life has a presence of a show - a movie. In the movie, you escape - get away, andyou know it is a show. The movie finishes, likedeath. The life show finishes, too, like death.• We have a second or a minute, when wesee all reality as we die.• The Power of life is to see the total of lifeas we live it, and act with this information.• The Power, the Truth is to see the Reality. When you see the Truth, perhaps you seeGod. This is the Power of seeing the Truth- the great beginning of the Spirit of Life inAncestral Andes. We must see the GreatReality. All things have a Universal Message.injoy 6at the heart of culture • • • •

health& wellbeing • • • •Perception of Spiritby Sandy StevensonEveryone has the gift of intuition andperception. It’s an ability to see what IS andto sense whether someone or somethingsits well with us or not. Perceiving energy isa spiritual quality called discernment. The awareness of energy itself contains no judgment. But if wethen decide that the energy we are feeling is good or bad, right orwrong, we change it into a judgmental 3D belief pattern. It movesfrom the purity of spirit and lowers us into a denser 3D vibration.Discernment can apply to any energy, be it people, books, newspapers, crystals, objects, gatherings, events, people in keypositions, gurus, presenters or channelers, etc. I believe we all havethis gift of knowing. But, sometimes maybe we doubt our ownknowing and throw away our inner gut feeling.LomilomiHawaiianMassageIndividual sessions &Introduction/AdvancedTraining Coursestaught by Mia Snowwith permission from Hawaiian EldersNow in Byron ShireFor information & bookingswww.alohmia.comPh. 0421242467When we aren’t sure about something or someone, it’s best to taketime to go within for our own truth. It is never wise to follow thepack. They may not be listening to their own guidance. If we meetsomeone we feel is not coming from the same place of light weare, we can withdraw our power and energy from them, but wedon’t need to judge them. When we deny love to others, we denyit for ourselves.Love is a universal gift of spirit and there is no reason good enoughnot to love. Although it can be challenging on occasion, what agift it is to be able to love someone, no matter what. When we can love others and stay out of any judgment or criticism(including of ourselves), we keep our own energy vibration high. This makes us happier, healthier, easier to be around, to live in theflow and helps us in our own spiritual evolution and to carry outwhat we came here to do.Trust yourself. •can you feel I A M ...Many still seem to be having trouble grasping the fact thatwe are all ONE, and this makes it challenging to know the IAM energy as it is all connected to that which IS. We createour own illusion, we create our life, we bring in everythingso we can learn and EXPERIENCE what we came hereto EXPERIENCE… remember we all choose this life for areason.Only when there is peace around can we feel I AM energy.PEACE right at this MOMENT. Check in with yourself… doyou have inner peace, are you present in this MOMENT, notthinking about what happened this morning or yesterday, not what you think might happen today or tomorrow. We need to be centered and earthed and grounded inthis human form and allowyourself to be peaceful andshine your rainbow so you canbe a bridge to all that is, so youwill expand and allow the freeflowingenergy to bring youpeace so you emanate peace, because you created peace.Throughout this article I mayrepeat my words and thisis because we have lost theunderstanding that wordshold energy, whether said orwritten. It is the same when anartist puts many strokes intoa painting, energy resides inevery word that is spoken or written. The same for yourthoughts, every one that you put into the universe has avibration that adds to the mix. When you play music, forexample, the gong will vibrate out into that space andcontinue far beyond, and forever. We all must acknowledge our words and thoughts as theyhold vibrations and continue to affect yourself and othersas long as you hold them, so allow the free flow of energyand if you catch yourself with a thought that doesn’tserve the highest then send it off to be transmuted…and remember to replace it with what you do want. It maybe overwhelming when you start to notice your thoughts,so just take it gently. You may think you are silent whenyou ‘think’, but a thought can be as damaging as slappingsomeone’s face, the difference is that it happens at anenergetic level.I ask us all to own our part in the journey, and if you don’tlike where you are, change it, choose to empower yourselfand take a first step. Don’t punish yourself if you stumbleor fall, just see the opportunity to learn and allow the flowto move you forward. Once you acknowledge somethingyou then have the power to change it. If you beat yourselfup or get stuck in the past or the future you open yourselfto manifest illness. Dis-ease is a result of stuck energy thatisn’t moving. Exercise can help get you moving… go for awalk, ride your bike, have a swim and just enjoy the simplepleasures life has to offer. Be open to healing yourself andfind the practitioner that suitsthe energy you need to move.It really is simple… ASK andyou will receive. Of generations since, many came with newdreaming in their hearts about relationship andfamily or tribe, already awakened. Kinship beingkey to their orientation so they’re less inclinedto exclusivity in their choice to love others. This in itself raises many questions as to howto be together, and what boundaries if any, dothey draw around sharing sensually or sexually. They aim to build community and find ways tolive and create together. They consider that allpeople deserve love and to belong. Yet there arecomplex issues that come with this requiringresolve.Among the challenges are the unconsciousbeliefs and patterning around hierarchy withinthe principle of equality. And in relation to deepintimate connections there can be fear andavoidance of commitment and co-dependence.Multiple attractions are natural, yet pursuing theurge to merge can trigger pain for all concernedand more karma to rebalance. Exploring thebeauty in those around us, while adhering toideals based on the belief that it should beokay to love and make a lover of more than oneperson.Consequently, if that upsets us then we needto forgive and own the reflection in order totranscend the dynamic so to live and relate fromwholeness. Whilst every path is valid there maybe truth and distortion in the playout.New RelationshipThe astrological grand trine of August 1987 known asthe Harmonic Convergence heralded the great changethat’s undeniably upon us. A time they say that wasto lead us out of the consciousness of war, and intothat of peace.Peace itself begins within every individual and can’t befaked. We need only look at our genetic relationships, and various others with family and friends, workmates, even strangers we encounter, to observe thestruggle that occurs inside us.So here we stand in 2010, together surrendering ourfears & control patterns that have been unconsciouslyrunning our lives. Gradually and emphatically undoingcenturies of tradition worldwide, by reclaiming thetruth of our essential inner genius. Many who belong to the older generation will, withgrace, take their conditioning to the grave with themand never desire or need for it to be any different. On the other side of what we’ve alreadydescribed is relationship and creation utopia! This group is minute in comparison to the othertwo but through each individual’s journey andmastery of self, they are pioneering and pavingthe way for the graceful transition of all others.Love and unity is shared, and most often loversare not!So when the great Mahatma Ghandi proclaimed,“Be the peace you wish to see in the world”, hewas seriously onto every soul’s responsibilityfor it. We seeeverything as polarised—as goodor bad, up or down, hot or cold. Wejudge everything that happens. Thevery act of judgment keeps us in thismode of perceiving. As an example of this separate wayof looking at life... if your body getscold you think of a fire or a heater; youthink of something outside yourself. This has led to our increasingdependence on technology andexternal objects. We become weaker when wekeep giving away our power totechnology—and that which isexternal. We then become dependentupon that which is outside ourselvesand soon get to the point where wecan’t do anything for ourselves.Oneness does not understand this.It doesn’t know what “needinganything” means. Aboriginal peoplesand other indigenous peoples whoremain in unity-consciousness do notknow what “need” means; whateverthey “need” just appears becausethey are in harmony with nature. Now we sit right at the turning pointof beginning to move back towardthe center of the galaxy and startwaking up. Thatexploding “Blue Star” really was thefulfillment of a two hundred-yearoldHopi prophecy, opening a sevenyearwindow, putting us in the “endtimes.” The Mayans are in completeagreement with the Hopi as both areconscious survivors of Atlantis. .This means that sometime betweennow and 2015 or so, we are verylikely to experience changes almostgreater than our ability to imagine:a physical pole shift along with aconsciousness shift into the fourthdimension. The exact date, accordingto the Mayans, will almost certainlynot be December 21, 2012; rather, itwill happen sometime in this sevenyear window. They say there are certain internalchanges we must make in ordernot only to survive, but also to riseto the next level. Drawing and painting became his lifeline and while he wasgrowing up it was the method he employed for expressing all the feelingshe couldn’t find words for.Mathew’s latest solo exhibition, ‘uneARThed,’ reflects the transformative, transcendental passages of life and his response to balancing the light anddark of existence. InspireMirrors can serve three basic purposesin feng shui... expansion, reflection, and deflection. In addition to expanding space bycreating a virtual window through theflat plane of a wall, mirrors can alsobe used to reflect (draw in) or deflect(push away) specific objects, images,or views. These are among the most useful offeng shui remedies as they enable youto either bring a positive energy intoyour space or keep a negative influenceout.ReflectionWhen you place any mirror in yourhome, pay attention to what is beingreflected in it. In feng shui terms, themirror is doubling that energy bycreating a virtual duplicate withinthe virtual space of the reflection. Forexample, if your mirror is reflectinga pile of clutter and unpaid bills, thereflection is a symbolic doubling ofyour untidiness and debt.On the other hand, if the mirror isreflecting a family snapshot from yourmost recent vacation when everyonewas having a wonderful time, themirror is symbolically doubling yourfamily’s happiness and enjoyment. This is the principle behind the fengshui suggestion to hang a mirror abovethe kitchen stove, so that it reflects -therefore doubling - the number ofstove burners. Because the stove issymbolic of prosperity, doubling theburners with a mirror symbolicallydoubles your wealth.Another very easy way to use thisquality of reflection to your advantageis to place a small round mirror underor behind any object that has specialfeng shui significance. This symbolicallydoubles the power and effectivenessof the object. How to UseMirrors asFeng ShuiRemediesby Stephanie RobertsYou can also deliberately place a mirrorso it reflects a positive image or viewfrom the exterior of your propertyinto a specific area of your home. Forexample:* If a mirror in your wealth area reflectsa window view that includes a largetree, then it is symbolically drawingthat tree into the wealth area of yourhome. The wealth area is associatedwith mature wood, so a large tree is agood image for this area.* A reflected view of any kind ofnatural beauty -- such as a garden oran inspiring mountain or ocean view, for example - brings the energy of thatenvironment into your home.* A reflection of a bird feeder in youryard brings active energy into yourinterior space as birds fly to and fromthe feeder.DeflectionMirrors can also be used to deflectnegative influence away from yourhome. When used for this purpose, themirror’s reflection is “bouncing back”the harmful chi towards its source.Often a ba gua mirror - a small roundmirror in an octagonal frame, usually redand/or yellow in color and decoratedwith black trigrams - is placed on theexterior of the home to deflect sha chi(harmful energy) aimed at the property, the structure, or the front door. The key differences between usinga mirror to reflect/attract a positiveinfluence and to deflect/repel anynegative influence are placement andintention. When you are reflecting/attracting a positive image into yourspace, the mirror is inside your home. When you are deflecting/repelling shachi, the mirror is hung on the exteriorof the home. While any mirror can be used to deflectnegative chi, a ba gua mirror can onlybe used for this specific purpose. Youshould never use a ba gua mirror insidethe home; it is only to be used on theexterior. (If you live in an apartmentand cannot place the ba gua mirroroutside, it is acceptable to hang the bagua mirror inside a window, with thereflective surface facing out.)As with any feng shui cure, theintention with which you use a mirrorwill determine its effect. Whether youare placing your mirror to expand asmall space, double the positive energyof a feng shui object or symbol, ordeflect sha chi, your clear intention toexperience the desired benefit will helpto ensure the effectiveness of your fengshui remedy.source of information: www.FastFengShui.comart & culture • • • •They call her Glama, and for good reason…Ruth Flowers is the matriarch and the hippest English deejay of ourtime. Initiateyouth, family, community • • • •Growing Up Too Fastby Aria LlordI’m 12 years old now and am getting bored. Ialready want to be 13!... AND I’m already thinkingof what I want to do on my13th birthday and that’s8 MONTHS away! I think that there are good andnot-so-good things about growing up! In fact I spenda lot of the time arguing with myself…One minute I WANT to be ALREADY grown up, thenext… I JUST want to stay being a kid, runningaround in the yard getting mud between my toes.ARRRRGH!Good things about getting older are: staying up later, getting piercings, earning more money, watchinghigher rated movies and going out shopping or tothe movies with just my friends.Things like getting my nose or belly button piercedare apparently “totally inappropriate for my age” oras my dad said, “getting your belly button piercedis nothing like getting your ears pierced”. “Why?”“Because it doesn’t draw attention to here… itdraws attention to HERE”, “but it’s so pretty”, “notuntil your 16 at least, end of discussion!”… “fine!”Not so good points about growing up fast is havingmore responsibilities like... MORE homework,MORE chores and people treating you like an adult- like complaining about things that are ONLYinteresting to THEM .Mum says to enjoy being a kid and to not rush growingup! Dad says to focus on now not TWO YEARS in thefuture!TV influences people to want to grow up too fast too!Another influence is siblings. Of course if my big sisteris allowed up till midnight on the weekend, I’ll beallowed …AND if she is allowed to get her nose piercedI’ll be allowed, TOO! …Right? WRONG!I don’t know WHY I want to be a teenager so soon…because when I see photos of me when I was a toddler,I miss it so much. I think I looked so small and cute!It was so good that I could get away with almostanything , I could blow raspberries at people and theywould just smile.I could MAKE UP JOKES that made NO SENSEWHATSOEVER and people would laugh at themanyway. Just between you and me, I used to lovejumping on the trampoline naked under the sprinkler…I could copy or imitate adults and they would NOTthink I was being RUDE… but clever!I could be WHOEVER I wanted to be… everyday! Oneday I even wore my superwoman cape (which wasjust a big piece of pink velvet), my mum’s chunkyheel boots which were way too big, my black leotard,a black mask I had made… and my pink Power PuffGirl knickers on the OUTSIDE… This would be fine torun around the house in… but I wore this … to TweedMall!!Yep I did that. I actually thought I was superwoman!Do you think I could get away with that now? I don’tthink so. I think I’d look like a total fruitcake!!Then again, IMAGINE driving your friends around ina CAR! Spending all that MONEY you’ve made in yourpart-time job on WHATEVER you LIKE!BUT HOLD ON A MINUTE… I DON’T want to pay myown BILLS… What if I have a car accident… and I don’tlike WORKING… I just like the MONEY!!Come to think of it, I’m growing a little every day!Hang on a second; it feels like yesterday that I waslooking forward to Year 6! diary ofan astrologer...21insight Simon SewellThe MatingInstinct.Recently there has beena noticeable upsurge ofinterest in composite orsynastry readings — andmany more questions aboutrelationship dynamics thanpurely personal readings… lookslike the mating instinct is in the air.I guess this could be rationalised withthe onset of spring however there isalso a deeper astrological reasoning. In this article I’d like to play a littlewith the movements of Mars andVenus, the inner planets that don’tusually have an impact on long-termtrends but certainly do act as triggersor precipitators. First however, let’stake yet another look at Neptune, due to it ruling the collective longingfor a love that is pure.Neptune has been transiting Aquariusfor years creating, on one level, anabstract or mental attitude to loveand relationship through the virtualor cyber realities of the internet. Forsure most know the enormous timeand energy invested in facebook, twitter and online connection. It’salmost as if throughout this transitmany are dematerialising in thehope they will stay connected, andpossibly meet that someone specialin cyberspace. This is far from the ancient andvisceral need to express love andconnection through the Pan andPriestess archetypes, and early nextyear when Neptune leaves Aquariusand enters Pisces the deep sufferingfrom aloneness and separation willbecome all too real and the need towithdraw from the ‘world’ will bean imperative so as to re-spiritualiselove.This transit of the planet Neptunethrough Pisces should really beginto heal that pain of separation theinjoyhuman psyche has beenexperiencing. How to prepare? That brings us back to Mars andVenus, currently in Scorpio, which is often considered one ofthe sexiest of signs. Well, Venusis set to stay in Scorpio for anunusually long time frame of fourmonths and she is currently stickingvery close to Mars. These planets bothrule ou Café r drive for relationship, hence this drive is being highlyaccentuated now, bringing with itthe impulse to understand moredeeply the implications of romance, sex and friendships, particularly theapparent lack of these qualities as wehave been engaging in more virtualand non-real manifestation. So it really is the perfect time toexplore the ancient paradigms,to wake up from the fogginess ofanxiety, fear or dissociation that hasbeen the theme for the last severalyears. If we can’t love one anotherthen how can we move togetherinto loving the planet as is needed byNeptune in Pisces next year.It is time to explore those deepermotivations between our self andothers close to us and weed out theritual of selfishness and separation. No more of that ‘yes dear’ avoidance;use the Scorpio intensity to get tothe bottom of things in the dynamicsbetween yourself and those nearestto you.Remember back when Neptune wasin Scorpio in the sixties, it was theage of free love, and here we areagain presented with an opportunityto free up love through the agencyof these two very personal planets,Mars and Venus.for individual sessions call Simon0266 84349710.10.10 . . .According to numerology websites, 10-10-10 represents new beginnings, freedom andself-expression . . . and a huge number of loved-up couples flocked to get married on the10th day of the 10th month 2010, a date that comes around only every 100 years.More than a hundred couples were booked to tie the knot at registry offices in NSW onSunday, October 10, 2010. “Only once in a hundred years can couples tie the knot on thespecial date 10/10/10,” NSW Attorney General John Hatzistergos said on Wednesday in astatement. It was the busiest day for registry weddings in NSW since the office was set up in 1856, hesaid. “The date has been so popular with couples the registry has been taking bookingssince over a year ago.”The NSW registry has not seen such demand since 96 couples got married on 08/08/08and staff worked hard to accommodate the couples by hiring extra venues and bookingas many celebrants and ushers as possible for the auspicious 10.10.10.source: Isabel Hayes, AAP October 7, 2010beautiful, loving, charismatic, alluring and drawnto all that glitters (according to mythology).Venus therefore represents everyone’s approachto relationships, what we look for in a partner, and what we bring to our relationship with ourpartners. Venus also represents our approachto the things we draw to us, and therefore itsignifies our relationship with money, income, possessions, resources and anything that wehave.• Today’s world is a much more complex andinclusive place than it was when concepts firstbegan being associated to the movements ofthe planet Venus. As well as representing the wellknown aspects of Venus’ such as sexuality, desire, beauty and attractiveness Venus is now alsoknown to represent the Yin; the receptive, creativeor “Right-Brain” side of both men and women.http://www.evolvingdoor.ca/miscarticles/venus_introduction.htmVenus is everyone’s experience of attraction • bothbeing attracted to something (or someone) andattracting something or someone to you.Named after a female deity. Venus is what wemight think of as the quintessential woman, being

Venus in Scorpio Venus usually glides through each sign of the zodiacin about thirty days but for the next four months the planet of love, union and artisticexpression will be going back and forth through the sign of the Scorpion! Check the scopesbelow to see how each sun sign fares.Namaste, Kim Falconer • www.falconastrology.com • www.kimfalconer.comAries • RAM: Venus in Scorpio activates your 8th sector, awakening issues of trust and risk taking. This is notthe conventional promise to be true kind of trust. This transit requires a feeling where the couple believes in each otherregardless of any deception or lie. This trust exists on a deeper level, even when there is no tangible basis for it.The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven. ~John MiltonTaurus • AUROCHS: Venus awakens the desire for commitment, union and closeness with a like-minded other. These next four months can be used to improve all relationships—ie make them match your heart’s desire. Basic humancontact - the meeting of eyes, the exchanging of words - is to the psyche what oxygen is to the brain. If you’re feeling abandoned by the world, interact with anyone you can. ~Martha BeckGemini • TWINS: Brace for sudden attractions! Visiting the doctor, dentist or even veterinary surgeon may evokesurprising feelings. The once plain and ordinary routine seems imbibed with love. The repercussions can vary between apassing fancy, renewed energy to a full on encounter that can leave more than a few changes in the daily schedule. If you find it in your heart to care for somebody else, you will have succeeded. ~Maya AngelouCancer• COBRA: The glitter of creative self-expression, affairs of the heart and playful exchange are awakened bythe muse of passionate intensity. Colors seem brighter, friendships more sincere and life more worthy of risk taking. Everythingthat makes you feel unique is heightened. This brings a new person into the life or enhances an ongoing relationship.Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do. ~John WoodenLeo • LION: Sometimes planets transiting through the home sector seem invisible and Venus here can go unnoticedin an overt sense. A feeling of deep passions and desire may lie concealed, yet act as a magnet bringing in a magical other.Often this enchanting person has a way of shaking the foundations of emotional stability while testing areas of stress orweakness. A finished person is a boring person.~Anna QuindlenVirgo • CERES: Speech becomes more enticing and writing more intriguing. For those who teach or are students, the world of knowledge awakens. At the very least, there can be an exciting proposition – romantic or creative – be it vialetter, fax, email or telephone. Pick up! Communication is a skill that you can learn. It’s like riding a bicycle or typing. If you’re willing to work at it, you can rapidly improve the quality of every part of your life. ~Brian TracyLibra • BALENCIA: As Venus enters the second house sector, the desire for passionate union and committedrelationship can become quite tangible. Not just an ideal to discuss at the coffee shop with friends, deep longings need tobe lived out. While we take care of practical requirements by meeting obligations, the arrow of love hovers ever overhead. At the touch of love everyone becomes a poet.~PlatoScorpio • SCORPION: Triggering the solar first house, Venus in Scorpio can stimulate feelings of vitality and drivethat encourage one to get out into the world and actively seek creative stimulation. Everything may seem a little brighter, prospects more hopeful and partners, or potential partners, more radiant. It is something akin to the feeling of spring fever.Spring is nature’s way of saying, Let’s party! ~Robin WilliamsSagittarius • ARCHER: Hidden in the obscurity of the unconscious, Venus here makes subtle yet importantstirrings by emerging in dreams, on the big screen, in a favorite novel or in the heart of a secret, even unrequited, love affair.Creativity can flourish as we dip into the oceans of collective unconscious and arise with lost treasures.Sometimes imagination pounces; mostly it sleeps soundly in the corner, purring. ~Terri GuillemetsCapricorn • SEA-GOAT: Venus makes herself felt in a collective consciousness when many pull together to createa work of art. This can involve theater companies, bands and other musical groups, mural painting teams and all forms ofdrama or dance. They evoke an erotic merging by underscoring a human sense of fellowship and unity.Trust that little voice in your head that says “Wouldn’t it be interesting if...” And then do it. ~Duane MichalsAquarius • WATER-BEARER: If you examine the inner experience of intimacy and your creative powers, thiscan be a time of enhanced relating, deepening unions and profound expression. If, on the other hand, you are locked in apattern of repressing or ignoring the love/creativity question all together, this will be a time of dissatisfaction, frustration andresentment. You decide! Anyone who can be replaced by a machine deserves to be. ~Dennis GuntonPisces • FISHES: On a basic level, this transit can bring an awareness of other beliefs, cultures and perceptions byexposure to foreign ways of interpretation and approach. This can come through a film, novel, intriguing stranger or eventravel abroad. The opportunity to expand the intimate horizons is offered in some way. It is up to the recipient, however, toaccept. When patterns are broken, new worlds emerge. ~Tuli Kupferberginjoy 22

InscribeSANTA TURNS TO SATANby PuckI crept through the laundry, doing my best to prevent my black rubber boots fromscreeching on the lino, and my Santa sack from banging into the washing machine. Icursed under my breath as my false beard caught on the door handle. Giggles couldbe heard beyond the door to the lounge room, as uncle Andy entertained my twodaughters, Jesse, 10, and Jaime, 7. After disentangling my beard I punched my pillowbelly in frustration and did my best to compose myself for the grand entrance.I stopped to take a deep breath before bursting into the room booming, “HO HO HOand a Meeerry Christmas.” I watched as the girls’ expressions quickly turned from shockto surprised delight. Both ran towards me squealing while I continued “ Ho-Ho-hoing”in my best baritone.Jesse playfully tugged at my beard and with great pleasure pulled it down to exposemy face. I should have laughed and remained in a festive state, but I snapped. I hadbeen exposed and the illusion shattered. “JESSEEEE!” I cried, yanking her away angrily.I looked across at Jaime, my youngest, and saw her eyes open wide as she watchedSanta turn to Satan.“Anyway, she knows Santa’s not real,” screamed Jesse, cowering across the room, wounded eyes boring into my shame. Andy frowned at me contemptuously. I pulledmy belly up high enough so I could slump back into the armchair, wishing it wouldswallow me and this ridiculous suit. Jaime strode over to me, picked up my thumb andsqueezed it reassuringly in her fist. “Don’t worry Daddy,” she said, “whatever happens, you’ll always be my Santa.”My failure melted with her touch. I pushed my sack aside and playfully scooped herup, bounded over to Jesse and wrapped them up in my love. “I’m so sorry girls.”“You are a Silly Santa,” said Jesse affectionately as she fixed my beard back into place.Returning to my character I bellowed, “Who wants to see what’s in Santa’s sack?”Meanwhile on the couch at the North Pole Emotional Health Centre…“I used to get bullied ‘cause of my red nose. But once Santa had accepted me thoseshallow reindeer decided that the sun now shines out of my arse. As if I could everlove and accept those fickle, judgmental turncoats! I’m glad I ride out front now so Ican fart in their faces. I’ll go down in history thanks to Santa. The other reindeer canjust sniff my butt!”Greg Piper © 2010injoy 24

Alternately, a person can list multiple emergency contacts as ICE1, ICE2, etc.The popularity of the program has spread across Europe and Australia and has started togrow into North America.Following research carried out by Vodafone showed that fewer than 25% of peoplecarry any details of who they would like telephoned following a serious accident. Acampaign encouraging people to do this was launched in 2005 and the idea hastaken off since the London bomb attacks in July 2005.When interviewed on the BBC Radio 4 Today programme, Brotchie said:“I was reflecting on some difficult calls I’ve attended, where people wereunable to speak to me through injury or illness and we were unable tofind out who they were. I discovered that many people, obviously, carrymobile phones and we were using them to discover who they were.It occurred to me that if we had a uniform approach to searchinginside a mobile phone for an emergency contact then that wouldmake it easier for everyone.”25injoy
