In this innovative and interactive course, you work in a teamof 10 students to plan and execute a community service project. You build friendships andcommunity while learning key leadership concepts, experiencing what it means to workin a team, and discovering who you are as a leader.RECENT PROJECTS INCLUDE:• a benefit concert for a Paraguayan village• a documentary on the lives of homeless families in Philadelphia• an art exhibit to commemorate World AIDS Day• a charity to repair houses in West Philadelphia• workshops to help refugees and other new Americans develop skills to enter the workforce“I thought students at an Ivy League school would be extremely competitive butManagement 100 changed my perception. I knew it would be challenging and rigorousacademically, but I have been surprised by the sense of community here, and the feelingthat there are always people looking out for you. My teammates and I became very closefriends and we worked together in and outside the classroom. The class encourages leadershipby allowing you to think for yourself. I think that’s why our project turned out aswell as it did. Knowing we pulled it together after countless hours of work was a greatfeeling.”Shateesha Huggins, W’08Cleveland, OHConsidering Marketing, Finance, or Health Care Management & Policy concentrationswww.wharton.upenn.edu/undergrad
