CAPABILITYPERFORMANCECORE MISSION COMPUTERADVANCED VIDEO ANDGRAPHICS PROCESSINGAIRBORNE MODULAR COMPUTERAMC-2421Saab is one of just a few companies globally with the expertise to develop entire aircraft systems, thisensures understanding of customer requirements, equipment architecture and integration. The modularcomputer system can solve almost all data, image, video and graphics interfacing and processing needsin highly integrated solutions to minimize avionics system weight and volume. The ITAR-free AMC-2421 combinesmulticore computing capabilities withhigh performance graphics generation, video switching, video processing andvideo compression. Various videosensors can be interfaced and switchedto arbitrary display video outputs.Video processing is performed to adaptthe input video to the video format ofthe connected display. Moreover, theAMC-2421 generates graphical missioninformation and overlays the generatedgraphics on selected input sensor video.JPEG 2000 video compression isfeatured to support recording andplayback of sensor video. The design ismodular and configurable to allowvarious video inputs and outputs fordifferent platforms. Software services areprovided as per customer requirements– from platform level to completeapplication integration.FEATURES• High performance graphics generationwith graphics overlays on sensor video• Non-blocking video switch with videoformat conversion for any input to manyoutputs• Advanced scaling, positioning andtranslation of video and images• Video compression and decompression• Platform software including drivers andBIT functions for available interfaces• Installed RTOS, could for example beVxWorks, Integrity (standard orARINC 653) or the Saab ERIS (Level A,ARINC 653) operating system• Integrated OpenGL SC driver enablesapplications to easily utilize the availableGPU• Data loader compliant to ARINC615/665• Single ruggedized ARINC 600 4MCUsized LRU with internal power supplySUITABLE FOR• Systems where a powerful videoand graphics hub is needed• Demanding video and graphicsapplications• Enhanced vision systems• Head-up and head-down displays• Sighting systems• Synthetic terrain presentation• Mission video recording
