2011 Course Reports
Course 1 - IAAF Information Technology
Seminar
This course was held in conjunction with the OAA
Congress. It was attended by all Member Federations with
at least two delegates from each. Topics covered were:
Understanding the Basics, Hardware & Networks,
Software & Virus Protection, Advanced Features (OAA
Webpage – Web design, Voice over IP), IAAF Historical
Course 2 - IAAF CECS Level II
Joel Severe (Mauritius) and Daniel Vicente were
appointed to lecture this course in French Polynesia
– Papeete - Tahiti. The in country organisation was
co-ordinated by Titaua Juventin (President PYF – OAA
Council Member). PYF was able to provide facilities,
equipment and an atmosphere that gave the opportunity
for extremely good outcomes. Twenty two participants
attended this course with all passing. This reflected kindly
upon the selection of the course participants and the
lecturers.
2011 RDC NEWS
Database overview, Entry System for IAAF events
overview and Future Developments. Barry Mullins was
appointed the chief lecturer; Jee Isram (IAAF), Dayne
O‘Hara and Peter Wilson also delivered aspects of the
course. The specific IT course material was developed by
Barry Mullins and the quality of this material was superb.
The feedback from the course participants and the Course
Director (Joel Severe) was very encouraging. This
feedback indicated that this course was delivered at a very
high level. Another positive outcome from this particular
course was the recommendation from Joel Severe to the
IAAF and the RDC Gold Coast that Daniel Vicente be
considered an IAAF Level II lecturer.
