My Spiritual Time Travel Experience

-TravelExperienceAfter so many years in ministry,I still wanted to know Jesus betterand have a renewed passion forHis glory, His kingship, His presence,His worldview and His encouragementfor faith and hopefor the future.Why did I need this spiritualtime-travel experience? BecauseJohn was not a Western theologian;he was a Jewish seer. To getthe fullest meaning of John’s vision,and the One who gave it tohim, I needed to know Jesus asJohn knew Him, not only as theSon of God, but the exalted Sonof Man, the “Cloud Man” of thebook of Daniel.Through prayer and an intensetime of study, while strugglingwith painful physical andagonizing spiritual attacks, theprecious Holy Spirit opened myheart and mind to understandJohn’ revelation as the Lord gaveit to him. It was if I was “in theSpirit” with John to see whathe saw and hear what he heardwhen the Lord opened the doorof heaven to him.The Lord gave John a revelationto unveil and disclosed toJohn what he could not knowwithout divine assistance. Johnsaw the spiritual warfare in heaventhat was being played out onthe earth. He saw the outcomeof the spiritual battle as well asprophetic events that would takeplace in the end times beforethe coming of the Lord. happened. He saw God’s peoplefull of faith and hope victoriouslyovercoming satanic oppositionthrough the blood of the Lamband the word of their testimony.The Lord told John to write whathe saw for our encouragement.But most importantly, Johnsaw Jesus on the throne, as Kingof kings and Lord of lords. He fullyrealized, with the “eyes of hisunderstanding” being opened,that Jesus, not the world’s corruptleaders, is sovereign over thenations. He clearly understoodthat Jesus knows everything thatis happening on the earth. Hisheart and mind were comfortedwith the sure knowledge that Godknows the end from the beginningand that Jesus would comeand establish His physical andspiritual kingdom on the earth.John saw that God will totallyand completely destroy His enemiesand the enemies of God’speople. Healing is the Children’s Breadcontinued >>by an unclean spirit. Simply put,her daughter needed healing.To this request Jesus respondsby telling her that what she isrequesting is the “Children’sBread”. What does that mean? Itmeans that it is a benefit of beingin covenant relationship withGod. It means that God’s childrenare entitled to it. The wordbread simply means food or sustenance.Just as a baby is entitledto his mother’s breast milk, so wethe children of God are entitledto divine healing. It is not a matterof if God wills; it is a matterof will we receive. God was tryingto teach me that night whatI have taught countless peopleto date: healing belongs to theNew Covenant believer in JesusChrist. All you and I have to do isplace a demand on it by faith, andGod will show Himself to be ElShaddai, our all-sufficient sourceof the “Children’s Bread”. Weput burdens upon ourselves andothers that God never intended.68 | DESTINY IMAGE | WINTER 2013When I begin to feel that the responsibilitiesof life are more thanI can bear, it is probably because Ihave taken on a burden that onlyHe can carry.So I try I keep my prayers inline with what God has promised,which is more than I canever imagine and think I canhandle, which is not much. Ikeep my heart as soft as I can,my spirit free from unforgivenessand anything else that can fog upmy relationship with Him. Thereis nothing more certain on thisearth than trusting in the goodnessof God and His never-endingdesire to care for us.“To sum up, all of you be harmonious,sympathetic, brotherly,kindhearted, and humble inspirit; not returning evil for evil orinsult for insult, but giving a blessinginstead; for you were called forthe very purpose that you mightinherit a blessing. (1 Pet. 3:8, 9)Yes, I am not really a morningperson, but meeting with Jesusfirst thing in the morning certainlygives me something excitingto look forward to as I wakeup. Asking Him to launch myday gives me a peace and a confidencethat can come no otherway. My Spiritual Time-TravelExperience continued >>the One true God. God’s peoplewill rule and reign with Jesusin a world free of sin, Satan anddeath. Regardless of the periloustimes to come, our destiny iscertain and sure. As believers wecan joyfully commit our souls toGod, who is faithful to keep Hisword of promise.John saw and heard God’speople ask Jesus how long theywould have to wait before Hewould come and judge the evilworld system and establish Hisrighteous kingdom on the earth(Revelation 6:10). When Jesusshowed them His plan, God’speople rejoiced and shouted tothe Lord with praises and hallelujahs.They fully understoodthat the judgments described inthe book of Revelation were actuallyGod’s answer to their ownprayers.This is why the book of Revelationis not a book of doomand gloom. It is a book aboutthe sovereign God of the universedefeating His enemies andGod’s people overcoming the difficulttimes coming to our world.In other words, it is about TheVictorious Kingdom. CoveringRevelation chapters 13-22, this isthe last book I wrote in a threevolumeseries on the book ofRevelation. I wrote this series toshow God’s people what the Lordshowed me in my spiritual timetravelto Patmos.I pray what I have written willinspire and encourage the readerswith the certain hope of victoryin uncertain times. I praythat God’s people will find renewedcourage and strength toface the challenging days aheadwith faith and not fear, knowingthat we will live with our Lordforever in the full manifestationof His blazing glory and dazzlingbeauty in an everlasting kingdomwhere there are no more tears, nomore death, no more sorrow, nomore crying, and no more pain.Even so, come Lord Jesus!
