An essential difference between WBB Fuchs’ engobes and those produced by other suppliers lies in the method of preparation. WBB Fuchs’ raw materials are wet-processed and spray dried, which allows manufacturers to obtain a very fine surface on clay roofing tiles. In addition, potentially damaging components, such as quartz and pyrites, are sieved out, which avoids surface defects on the finished clay tiles. WBB Fuchs’ engobes exhibit a great tolerance towards different application weights on roofing tiles, and are characterised by very low-dust handling. Using a solvent, (for example Ytron), they are easily dissolved in water. Our “Red Roof” product has been specially developed for use in roof tile manufacture. This spray dried granulate is ideal for use as a stain, in combination with other additives, (including frits, pigments or oxide). 1000 0 C 1100 0 C 1200 0 C
