The financial year 2006-07 has ended on a positive note, financially and operationally. Strong
demand from steel industry worldwide has been an important factor for the encouraging
results. However, optimum use of key resources like chrome ore and electricity has been our
objective, to keep costs under control. We need to achieve longterm viability, as market prices
and demand do and will fluctuate. Further integration to coal mining and expansion of electricity
generation is now pursued expeditiously for adequate fundamental strength.
Reginald's New Diet
Reginald was terribly overweight, so his doctor placed him on
a strict diet. 'I want you to eat regularly for two days, then
skip a day, and repeat this procedure for two weeks. The next
time I see you, you'll have lost at least five pounds, 'his doctor
assured him. When Reginald returned he shocked his doctor
by having lost almost twenty pounds. 'Why, that's amazing, the
doctor said, greatly impressed, 'You certainly must have
followed my instructions.'
Reginald nodded, 'I'll tell you what though, I thought I was
going to drop dead on the third day.'
'Why, from hunger?' asked his doctor.
'No, from all that skipping.'
The story of a blind girl
alankar
There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she’s blind. She
hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He’s always there for
her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry
her boyfriend.
One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she can
see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her,
“now that you can see the world, will you marry me?” The girl was
shocked when she saw that her boyfriend is blind too, and refused to
marry him. Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a
letter to her saying. “Just take care of my eyes dear.”
This is how human brain changes when the status changed.
Only few remember what life was before, and who’s always been
there even in the most painful situations.
Life is A Gift.
Today before you think of saying an unkind word – Think of
someone who can’t speak.
Before you complain about the taste of your food – Think of
someone who has nothing to eat.
Before you complain about your husband or wife – Think of
someone ho’s crying out for a companion.
Today before you complain about life – Think of someone who went
too early to heaven/hell.
Before you complain about your children – Think of someone who
desires children but they’re barren.
Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn’t clean or
sweep – Think of the people who are living in the streets.
Before whining about the distance you drive – Think of someone
who walks the same distance with their feet.
And when you are tired and complain about your job – Think of the
unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.
But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another –
Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to
one maker.
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down – Put a smile
on your face and thank — you’re alive and still around
Life is a gift – Live it, Enjoy it, Celebrate it, And Fulfill it.
The Priest & The Mayor
After 25 years in the same town, Father O' Shaunessey was
saying his farewells at his retirement dinner. The mayor of the
town had been asked to make a presentation and a short
speech, but was late arriving. So the priest took it upon
himself to fill the time, and stood up to the microphone:
"I remember the first confession I heard here twenty-five
years ago and it worried me as to what sort of place I'd come
to... That first confession remains the worst I've ever heard.
The chap confessed that he'd stolen a TV set from a
neighbour and lied to the police when questioned, successfully
blaming it on a local scallywag. He said that he'd stolen money
from his parents and from his employer; that he'd had an affair
with his best friends' wife; that he'd taken hard drugs, and had
slept with a nun of this church and given her VD. You can
imagine what I thought... However I'm pleased to say that as
the days passed I soon realised that this sad fellow was a
frightful exception and that this town was indeed a wonderful
place full of kind and decent people..."
At this point the Mayor arrived and apologized for being late,
and keen to take the stage, he immediately stepped up to the
microphone and pulled his speech from his pocket:
"I'll always remember when Father O' Shaunessey first came
to our town," said the Mayor, "In fact, I'm pretty certain that I
was the first person that he heard in confession.."
“Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble
bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell
the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the
fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.”

Secret Behind Happy Married Life
Once X asked Y, "What is the secret behind your happy married
life?" Y said, "You should share responsibilities with due love and
respect to each other. Then absolutely there will be no problems."
X asked, "Can you explain?"
Y said, "In my house, I take decisions on bigger issues where as my
wife decides on smaller issues. We do not interfere in each others
decisions."
Still not convinced, X asked Y "Give me some examples"
Y said, "Smaller issues like which car we should buy, how much
amount to save, when to visit home town, which Sofa, air
conditioner, refrigerator to buy, monthly expenses, whether to keep
a maid or not etc are decided by my wife. I just agree to it"
X asked, "Then what is your role?"
Y said, "My decisions are only for very big issues. Like whether
America should attack Iraq, whether Britain should lift sanction over
Zimbabwe, whether to widen African economy, whether Tiger
Woods should be pardoned by his wife etc. Do you know one thing,
my wife NEVER objects to any of these".
GOD IS NO WHERE
We have a wonderful world that is full of beauty, light and
promise. Why waste time in this world looking for the bad,
disappointing or annoying when we can look around us, and
see the wondrous things before us!
This can be read as "GOD IS NO WHERE" or as "GOD IS
NOW HERE" everything depends on how you see it. All
successful people have one thing in common: Positive thinking
and passion for what they are doing!
Norman Vincent Peale, the famous author of "The Power of
Positive Thinking" once told this story.
A man once telephoned Norman Vincent Peale. He was
despondent and told the reverend that he had nothing left to
live for. Norman Vincent Peale invited the man over to his
office. "Everything is gone, hopeless," the man told him. "I'm
living in deepest darkness. In fact, I've lost heart for living
altogether." Norman Vincent Peale smiled sympathetically.
"Let's take a look at your situation," he said calmly. On a sheet
of paper he drew a vertical line down the middle. He
suggested that they list on the left side the things the man had
lost, and on the right, the things he had left. "You won't need
that column on the right side," said the man sadly. "I have
nothing left, period." Norman Vincent Peale asked, "When did
your wife leave you?"
"What do you mean? She hasn't left me. My wife loves me!"
"That's great!" said Norman Vincent Peale enthusiastically.
"Then that will be number one in the right-hand column -
Wife hasn't left. Now, why your children left you?" "That's
silly. My children are always with me !" "Good! That's number
two in the right-hand column - Children not in jail," said
Norman Vincent Peale, jotting it down.
After a few more questions in the same vein, the man finally
got the point and smiled in spite of himself. "Funny, how things
change when you think of them that way," he said.
Motivational Quote: "Be sure that you appreciate everything
you've got; and be thankful for the little things in life that mean
a lot."
Inspirational Quote: "It is not what you have but it is how you
think has a profound effect on your life."

MOBILE CONVERSATION
Several men were in a golf club locker room. A mobile
phone rings.
"Yes I can talk," says the man answering the call,
"You're shopping are you? That's nice." The listening
men smile to each other.
"You want to order those new carpets? Okay.. And
they'll include the curtains for an extra five thousand?..
Sure, why not?"
More smiles among the listeners.
"You want to book that week on Necker Island?..
They're holding the price at twenty-two thousand?..
Sounds a bargain.. You want a fortnight?.. If that's
what you want honey, okay by me."
Smiles turn to expressions of mild envy.
"And you want to give the builder the go-ahead for
the new conservatory? Seventy-five thousand if we
say yes today? Sounds fair.. sure, that's fine."
The listeners exchange glances of amazement.
"Okay sugar, see you later.. Yes, love you too," says the
man, ending the call.
He looks at the other men and says, "Whose phone is
this anyhow?.."
"When you ASSUME you make
an ASS out of U and Me."

Walking on water
Three monks decided to practice meditation together. they
sat by the side of a lake and closed their eyes in
concentration. Then suddenly, the first one stood up and said,
"I forgot my mat." He steeped miraculously onto the water in
front of him and walked across the lake to their hut on the
other side.
When he returned, the second monk stood up and said, "I
forgot to put my the other underwear to dry." He too walked
calmly across the water and returned the same way. The third
monk watched the first two carefully in what he decided must
be the test of his own abilities. "Is your learning so superior to
mine? I too can match any feat you two can perform," he
declared loudly and rushed to the water's edge to walk across
it. He promptly fell into the deep water.
Undeterred, the yogi climbed out of the water and tried again,
only to sink into the water. Yet again he climbed out and yet
again he tried, each time sinking into the water. This went on
for some time as the other two monks watched.
After a while, the second monk turned to the first and said,
"Do you think we should tell him where the stones are?"
Let us take a pledge for a solid Team Work to stay afloat.
