Where do theystart? With ASSUMPTIONS! With matter already inexistence.Since accounting for the origin of the universeis too painful a scientific headache for most astronomers,they conveniently start with just a smatteringof theory about the ORIGIN of matter, and thenproceed to an already full-blown, fantastic universecomplete with stars, planets, galaxies, and everythingelse!Outside Science?Evolution colors all scientific thinking, includingthe realm of astronomy. But it has NOT led toany satisfying answer!Scientists themselves admit, when pressed,"We are today under the spell of the evolutionarythinking begun 150 years ago by Kant and Laplacein astronomy, by Thomas Vuckle and Herder inhistory, by Bufion, Lamarck and Darwin inbiology." They confess, "We the children of thesegenerations automatically think in terms of evolution,assume that everything had a beginning,and that this beginning was 'chaos.' "And then, striking at the root of the problem,they are beginning to wonder, "The question nowarises as to whether astronomical problems can besolved by evolutionary trains of thought" (Kahn,Design of the Universe, page 202).Dr. Jesse L. Greenstein, astrophysicist at theCalifornia Institute of Technology, said in regardto the origin of the universe, "It is a terribleMYSTERY how matter comes out of nothing." Heasked, "Could it have been something outsidescience?" Dr. Greenstein confessed, "We try tostay out of philosophy and theology, but sometimeswe are forced to think in bigger terms, to go backto something outside science." God is rejected asCreator.But cosmologists have no substitute for Him.They admit that the origin of the universecannot be explained.Origin of Universe a MysteryScience has no answer for the origin of ouruniverse.Yet, much of science dogmatically INSISTS onrejecting the only possible answer - that of specialcreation by the great Architect of all that exists!God has not left science without a witness!Scientists SHOULD be the most awestruck ofALL MEN about God! Scientists, with their variousapparatuses for observation, measurement, andexperimentation - SHOULD be men of DEEP SPIRI­TUAL CONVICTION, absolutely thunderstruck by themagnificence of the things they study!Some are. By no means is all science completelyatheistic. Many leading scientists have cometo see the hand of a Divine Creator in our materialcreation - but they are vastly outnumbered bythose who deny that powerful hand.So - admitting they have NO ANSWER - theyfall back on an ancient superstition.And superstition it is.Strange as it may seem, atheistic science standsguilty of the very thing for which it accuses "Creationists."It stands guilty of incredible DOGMATISM- repeated insistence on doctrines NOT PROVED­NOT TESTED - NOT OBSERVED; and it stands guilty ofclinging to some of the most ancient superstitionsever to be hatched in the demented minds of philosophersof dim ages past - that this materialcreation "evolved" by accident, and that mancame from animals!This orderly universe operates on LAWS. It isUPHELD by laws. It exists for a great PURPOSEapurpose so far beyond the wildest imaginings ofmost professing Christians it would take theirbreath!The very One who DID all the creating cameto this earth with a message about that greatPURPOSE. But men rejected His message - whileprofessing to accept His person.But this Work of God ACCEPTS the wholemessage of Christ! We do NOT deny the accurate,measured, carefully PROVED scientific data of thismodern age - we welcome it enthusiastically! Butwe DO most seriously reject MYTH, and SUPER­STITION.And evolution is precisely that.Startling AdmissionsThe universe and this earth exists-that muchwe know. But where did matter come from? Whydoes this universe operate according to law?
