Traditional & ContemporaryWood & Multi-fuel Stoves

Premium QualityCast Iron & Steel StovesWelcome to Stovax, a company that has been dedicated to the development and manufacture of highquality, woodburning and multi-fuel stoves for over 30 years. Today, Stovax is home to one of Europe’sleading ranges of stoves and fireplaces with models and colours to suit all types of interiors.Authentic choiceThere is nothing like the irresistible ambience of a real Stovaxstove. Expertly crafted to be either traditional or contemporaryin appearance with the flexibility and convenience required formodern living, they continue to offer discerning homeownersthe best of all worlds. Whether you choose woodburning orsmokeless fuel options they are clean burning, highly efficientand available in sizes and styles to suit most rooms and livingspaces.Cast iron or steelOriginally, all heating stoves, such as the Huntingdon range(illustrated on pages 14 - 23), were made from cast iron. Today,in spite of commercial steel production expanding from the late19th Century onwards, cast iron remains the material of choicefor many premium quality stoves. This is because of the waycast iron diffuses warmth giving maximum radiant heat overa period of time. Moreover, the iron can be cast more thicklyin areas where greater strength is needed, whilst additionallyallowing attractive designs to be cast into the stove panels. However, in the 21st Century, modern manufacturingtechnology also permits the use of heavy gauge steel for thebody of the stove with cast iron or steel doors and fireboxcomponents complementing it.Accordingly, both the more traditional Stockton and Riva Plusranges (see pages 32 - 69) and the contemporary View range(see pages 70 - 77) combine the advantage of both cast ironand steel, offering superb performance and value for money.State-of-the-art Cleanburn technologyMost stoves in this brochure feature Cleanburn technologyso they burn logs or solid fuels with outstanding efficiency*,resulting in more heat delivery into the room and less going upthe chimney. It works by introducing pre-heated, secondary airinto the firebox to burn the excess hydrocarbons in the smoke.Airwash air also helps keep the window clean, allowing you toenjoy the flames to the full.CE Marked and HETAS AccreditedAll Stovax stoves in this brochure are CE marked, and this isshown by the CE mark on their product pages. This meansthey have been independently tested to exacting Europeanstandards for both heating efficiency and emissions. Theyhave also been accredited by HETAS † , the UK’s official bodyrecognised by the government to approve solid fuel domesticheating appliances.†High Output Boiler Stoves are subject to official listing.2CLEANBURNSystemAIRWASHSystem

This will not only give a higheroutput than that of freshly felled timber but help avoid a buildup of tar in your flue. Furthermore, if you can obtain hardwoodlogs this is better still, as they will have a greatly increasedcalorific value of softwoods for the same volume.* All efficiencies quoted in this brochure are when tested to European standardsfor seasoned wood with a moisture content of less than 20% or for approvedsmokeless fuelsIn rural areas, Stovax stoves have a particular advantage asthey allow homeowners to burn readily available log suppliesfrom local sources. Indeed, if you are a farmer, smallholder orlandowner your fuel could even be free!Woodburning efficiency can even be achieved in the mosturban environments with our extensive range of Smoke ControlArea approved stoves. Please see page 5 for further details.Just as importantly, if you choose a Stovax stove with a boileroption, you can even provide yourself with domestic hot wateror run radiators from the same fire. Please see page 4 forfurther details.Five Year Extended WarrantyAs outlined on page 90, your Stovax ExpertRetailer will provide you with a Five YearExtended Warranty for your new solid fuelstove, provided your stove is registered withStovax. Cast Iron StovesWood and Multi-fuelEvery stove in this section is manufactured from cast iron. This is the traditional way of makingpremium quality stoves due to the way cast iron diffuses heat. Another advantage is that theiron can be cast more thickly in areas where greater strength is needed. It also has sculpturalqualities, allowing attractive designs to be cast into the stove panels.Airtight ConstructionAll Stovax stove doors, except the Regency, have airtight sealswhich permit airflows to be precisely controlled. This allows boththe heat output and refuelling frequency to be varied and helpsmaximise burning efficiency.Perfect Flame ControlThe triple air system in certain stoves also allows complete controlof the flame picture. From a deep glow, with minimal flames, ittakes only a few seconds to fill the firebox with swirling flamesfrom the fuel and jets of flames from the Cleanburn ports.Enamel StovesEnamel is a very thin coating of coloured glass which is fired atover 800°C on to a metal surface. To achieve its translucent andlustrous finish, each casting is especially designed for enamellingand is coated and fired twice. Enamel is an option on manystoves, and available in the three colours shown opposite.6

Colour OptionsMatt Black Matt Ivory Midnight Laurel GreenBlue Enamel EnamelIvoryEnamelPlease see product pages for colour options available for each model.Triple Air Systems (Cleanburn technology)Several Stovax stoves incorporate triple air systems to provide a cleaner burn, greater thermalefficiency and control of the flame picture as follows:1 Airwash air is drawn down over the inside of thewindow to keep the glass clean and clear. It is alsoused as primary combustion air when burning wood.1CLEANBURNSystemAIRWASHSystem2 Primary air for use with solid fuel, also used to startwood fires but not normally used once a wood fireis burning.3 Cleanburn secondary air is pre-heated as it passesthrough a heat exchanger chamber within thefirebox. It is then drawn into the smokestream, where it combusts unburnt hydrocarbons to providea cleaner burn and greater thermal efficiency.2SMOKE CONTROLAREAEXEMPT37

Stockton 7HB Inset Boiler Stove.Stockton 11HB Multi-fuel Boiler Stove shown burning logsWhen burning wood, the use of the optional tray is recommended.High Output Boiler StovesFour models within the Stockton range, along with theView 7HBi and 8HB from the new contemporary Viewrange, have been specifically designed to supply yourdomestic hot water and central heating requirementsor augment your existing heating system via ‘link up’technology. Whatever your choice, you will enjoy allthe atmosphere of a real fire plus exceptional heatingperformance throughout your home.conventional oil or gas central heating, gas or oil sealedheating systems, combi boilers, underfloor heatingand even solar panels to provide flexible, cost-effectivesolutions. Stovax produces a ‘link up’ guide showingtypical arrangements and covering some frequentlyasked questions. You may find it useful to download thisfrom www.stovax.com/linkup before discussing yourrequirements with a qualified heating engineer. When providing hot water and central heating, eachstove is capable of feeding an average 8,000 BTU hotwater cylinder and depending on the model, up to 19radiators. The exact number of radiators will dependupon how many rooms you wish to heat and the sizesof those rooms. Radiators also come in a variety ofsizes/capacities. For example, a typical 400mm high x1000mm wide, single panel radiator requires 2500BTU/hr. You should always consult a qualified solid fuelheating engineer to ensure the stove can meet yourrequirements.Stovax HB boiler stoves are designed for multi-fueluse and incorporate a riddling grate. This is becausesmokeless fuels tend to provide greater calorificvalues. However, should you wish to reduce your CO ²emissions then you can also burn a combination ofsmokeless fuels and logs together. Should you prefer toburn wood only, you can still achieve good performancebut, as logs burn best with slightly different fireboxcharacteristics, we recommend you purchase theoptional log tray or the new dedicated woodburning onlymodels for the Stockton 11HB and 14HB.Alternatively, you can ‘link up’ a Stovax High OutputBoiler with your existing or proposed heating systemto reduce your reliance on gas or oil and help decreaseoverall heating fuel costs.
